For the last decade, Arsenal have been on the verge of success, with one thing holding them back. One stumbling block, that if they could overcome, they would be serious contenders for every trophy they went for. One big, ever-changing, “if”.

“If they get a new stadium, Arsenal will compete financially”

What’s the point of a new stadium when an oligarch can give you 3 times the revenue?

“If they wait for the kids grow up, Arsenal will have a team for a generation”

Unless of course, they leave, become perennially injured, or (god forbid) turn out to be Denilson.

“If they sign a tall defender, Arsenal won’t be bullied in defence”

A tall defender who can only function with one partner and is having a 5 month World Cup hangover.

“If they keep their best players, Arsenal will compete with the best”

Ramsey, Cazorla & Koscielny have been the club’s best players over the last three years. They’ve had approximately 5 good games between them this year.

“If they get more British players, Arsenal will find some passion”

The only British player willing to fight for his teammates spends most of his time either on the injury table, or being told off for needlessly squaring up to an opposition player who has successfully wound him up.

“If they sign the best players, Arsenal will beat the best”

Arsenal signed Ozil as the best number 10 in the world, and he is not playing as the best number 10 in the world. Sanchez can only carry the team so far.

“If they win a trophy, Arsenal will gain momentum”

As enjoyable as that day in May was, the club are lacking the confidence and momentum they had last season. The exact opposite effect has happened.

If they take a step forwards, Arsenal will take one back

Seven “ifs” have turned into a reality, without any noticeable improvement. Every time one issue gets sorted out, a new one crops up in its place. The club continues to Ping-Pong between 3rd and 4th place in the Premier League, while the last “big” team Arsenal beat in the Champions League was Milan in 2008. The club is stagnating.

However, if they sign a holding midfielder…

Guys, check the size of Arsenal team (number of players and age) compared to Chelsea, Man city, Man-u, Totten Ham , QPR e.t.c Arsenal has fewer and younger players compared to the above. The best way is to change the past Philosophy to new one, which is to buy big boys and forget about depending on academy boys. With this approach everything will do. Wenger himself has no problem, the problem is within the club owners.Roman Abramovic once he say he wants Didier Drobar back, nothing will stop Didier coming back. .

The problem is Wenger. When he first came he was inventive. Others copied but we enjoyed good success and watching GREAT football. However others soon caught up and passed us by. Football has changed but Wenger hasn't he is still stuck in the tactics used in the beginning of this century. He is also doing his reputation no good. Some fans here have only seen us ever win 1 trophy. Some sound like Liverpool fans, harping on about how good we were in the past.

A true supported never gets tired of supporting. You are born a supported of a team - just like you are born into a religion. You can never change. I really think this site has been taken over by Spurs supporters.

Just so tired of supporting! No any improvement, no changes.... Wenger have no options but to leave. His time is off.

Quoting Toby Mosss:
I have had enough of supporting arsenal, enough is enough! United are the new team for me!

Just not a real fan. Things need to change but never your team.

Toby Moss, not worth a reply. Until Wenger leaves we have no chance of winning anything but more derision from clubs not fit to be in the league,.we have a load of talented players but not as a team. Wenger is a busted flush and has been for years but as long as he keeps making this greedy idle board more cash then they,l keep letting him. Why not bring in someone else,if it takes them 2/3 years to get it right it'll only be the 2/3 years Wenger would of wasted,he,s frightened to leave cos he,s too comfortable on his 8m a year at The Arsenal.

how many times over the last 6 or 7 years have we seen Arsenal miss the first half an hour of a game and what does Wenger do about it nothing the man is devoid of ideas he surely must go
