Oxlade-Chamberlain wants to leave Arsenal

Arsenal fans have been left worried at the prospect of losing star duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil as the two players have not yet signed an extension to their current deals at the club and the Gunners now allegedly have been handed another bombshell.

According to reports from Sky Sports, even Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has decided that he will look to leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the current campaign.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s is in a similar situation as Sanchez and Ozil as his contract is set to expire within the next 15 months and the England international is believed to have made his decision to leave Arsenal as he feels taken for granted by the club.

Bellerin apologizes to the fans

Heading into the second leg of their Round of 16 encounter against Bayern Munich with a 5-1 deficit, Arsenal were not expected to mount a comeback but fans were hopeful that their side would be able to salvage some pride with a strong performance at home.

As it turned out though, Arsenal suffered another 5-1 hammering to lose the tie with a whopping score of 10-2 and following the embarrassment, Gunners’ right-back Hector Bellerin has gone on to deliver a public apology to the club’s faithful after the woeful displays put up by his side.

Many were left shocked ahead of Arsenal’s encounter against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday as star man Alexis Sanchez was omitted from the starting lineup and it has been reported over the last 24 hours by various media outlets that the Chilean international was dropped by manager Arsene Wenger as punishment for his training ground bust-up with teammates.

Wenger was naturally questioned regarding such huge claims about Sanchez ahead of Arsenal’s Round of 16 Champions League second leg clash against Bayern Munich but the veteran boss categorically denied the reports by stating that the alleged falling out has been fabricated by the media.

The Frenchman replied when asked about the bust-up with Sanchez, “I am not aware, nothing at all. I explained after the game I decided to go for a more direct option, that was the unique reason for my decision.

“Completely false. I understand you have to fill newspapers. All the rest, his attitude - he’s a committed player and sometimes has excessive behaviours but you have that many times in the history of every squad.

“I shook hands with him on Saturday morning and after the game. You decided I did not shake hands. I shake hands everyday with Alexis Sanchez.

“That is the most important thing, that we focus on what’s important and not the individual. Alexis played in all the games and when we didn’t perform away from home, we lost as well.

“We lost at Man City, Liverpool, and Chelsea, and that’s what I think is the most important thing, to focus and produce as a team.”

Arsenal’s starting lineup ahead of their clash against Liverpool at Anfield sent shockwaves after it was revealed that star man Alexis Sanchez was excluded.

When queried about the strange decision ahead of the game, manager Arsene Wenger told that Sanchez was dropped in favour of Olivier Giroud in order to adopt a more direct style of play but the move certainly backfired.

Speculation surrounding the long term future of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger simply refuses to die down and there have been varying reports from many media outlets regarding whether or not the Frenchman will continue his reign at the Emirates Stadium beyond the end of the current campaign.

Due to the uncertainty, a number of high profile managers have already been mentioned as potential replacements for Wenger and Juventus boss Max Allegri is a name that has been in the forefront in many newspapers.

Now in an exclusive from the Daily Express, revelations can be made that Arsenal have already begun their pursuit to lure Allegri to North London by beginning negotiations with the Italian manager and although an agreement has not been reached, talks are allegedly at an advanced stage.
