Jeremy Wilson of the Daily Telegraph believes Arsenal are only going to sign Kim Kallstrom in the final day of the January transfer window, putting to bed any stories linking Miroslav Klose with an Emirates move.
There is still hope that Arsène Wenger can spring a ‘Mesut Özil’ type surprise but it seems increasingly unlikely.
Targets deemed too expensive
Goal.com’s Wayne Veysey did state earlier that Wenger was targeting Blaise Matuidi and Morgan Schneiderlin but predictably, the duo were “deemed too expensive” and so Kallstrom is the final option.

The news of Emmanuel Frimpong leaving the club to join Barnsley on a permanent deal does not come as a surprise as reports earlier this month claimed the player would be moving on.
Breaking into the first team squad in the 2011-12 season it seemed Frimpong was a great talent set for successful future at the club but injuries and attitude saw his progress halt and he really has been nowhere near the first team this year.

Arsène Wenger has just spoken to the media in his early Friday press conference and has revealed that we are looking to bring a midfielder into the club on the final day of the transfer window.
Midfielder will sign today
With Aaron Ramsey confirmed to be out for an extended period with an injury and Mathieu Flamini suspended for three matches, Wenger confirmed his desire to sign a central midfielder.
Arsène Wenger says “he is 80 per cent confident Arsenal will sign a player today but insists it won’t be Julian Draxler.”

After his summer move to newly promoted Crystal Palace from Arsenal Marouane Chamakh has found himself a regular starting spot in their first 11.
After scoring 5 goals this season the 30 year old is relishing his return to the Emirates this Sunday.
