Yesterday Santi Cazorla had spoken out to the press about when Arsenal's title hopes had vanished and what his view was on the current squad.

The Spaniard was quoted:

"The defeat against Stoke finished us. You can't lose against Stoke if you aspire to be the next champion...we have to improve at crucial moments and sign the best football players because if you don't do that, you may lag behind others".

Apart from his criticism on the current squad losing out on title hopes when they received a big blow to Stoke, the player then had an interview with Abu Dhabi based website Sport360.com and came out stating he learnt a lot more under Pellegrini.

Cazorla said:

"I learnt a lot from of all of the managers I have played for, but if I had to choose one it would be Pellegrini.

"He’s the coach that has given me the most during five to six years that I worked with him at Villarreal and Malaga.

"He was the first person who took me to Malaga. We have a great relationship and I congratulate him because he’s doing well. But Manchester has not called me."

Truth vs. Harsh Criticism

What may be seen as the truth, Cazorla's words may also be viewed as quite harsh. Although the player comes out stating that the teams loss to Stoke had ended their title hopes, he also stated that the club need to spend more on quality players at crucial moments in order to keep up with title contending teams.

Although that part of talking to the press may be seen as truth, his latest interview may be seen as harsh. By choosing your former coach above your current coach may come across as a slap through the face or having to choose between your ex-partner and your current partner and choosing your ex..

Many Arsenal fans may agree with Santi in that it may be the end of Wenger's reign and that his philosophy to the game needs a change in order to succeed. But with Cazorla choosing his former coach above his current coach, is he in fact implying he would like a change at the club...

I guess only Cazorla would know.

He does admit that the team has lost confidence during recent games, himself included. Which is why he says he was learning more under pellegrini. How to outsmart your opponent when they are being able to read your game and assess weaknesses. While here at arsenal the play has become quite monotonous which is detrimental not only for the team but also for individual players as they are unable to grow and also is affecting results.

Quoting Alan:
The harsher santi is on the losers at arsenal the better. Frankly the only two player we MUST KEEP next season are Ramsey and mertsacker . The rest can FO with wenger.. Ditto gazidis and all the other losers that run this club or play for it .. Maybe keep Ox

Spot on Alan, they all need a good tuning for the sad performances they have been putting in lately. Carlos has nothing to shout about really as he has been missing in more games than anybody else, apart from that piece of crud known as Arteta.
