With Arsenal having problems of late in defence while Koscielny had been injured, the club are now facing pressure in trying to tie the player down to a new contract.

The Club are facing pressure from German Giants Bayern Munich, as well as French giants PSG and money spending Monaco. Arsenal cannot afford to lose another big name defender as Sagna seems to be on his way out.

Koscielny "Boss"cielny

Koscielny has been one of Arsenal's star players this season. Along with Per Mertesacker, the two have had one of the best centre back pairing results in the League. Along with standout performances, Koscielny has played with heart and passion for the club. To lose a player of his stature would result in great consequences and could put Arsenal in a real sticky situation come the transfer window.

The player has been come out saying:

“I feel good at Arsenal and if the club can compete with the best, I have no reason to leave. But if it fights every year for Champions League qualification it’s hard psychologically to be under such constant pressure.”

The player is said to be on humbled £50,000 a week salary, while out of favour club captain Thomas Vermaelen is on a £70,000 a week salary. With Mertesacker signing a new contract just over a month ago, seeing him increase his salary to £90,000-a-week, one could only imagine the club offering Koscielny in the same region.

Koscielny back in the team

When Koscielny was mentioned back in the starting line-up to face West Ham, I can only imagine every Arsenal fan being excited and happy about the news. Koscielny has been an outstanding player thus far and any game that he is unable to play, i feel has brought great negativity. Negativity not only amongst players, but mostly from fans.

Out of favour club captain Thomas Vermaelen has been under immense pressure to fill the boots of Koscienly and the results prove it. Koscielny back in the team only uplifts Arsenal fans but more importantly lifts the spirit of the team.

In my opinion, the club need to do everything in their power to get the player to extend his contract and stay with the club, as an Arsenal team of late without him just doesn't reach the required bench mark.

Koscielny has three years on his current contract it's not as if he can walk out the door tomorrow, sure other clubs might be interested but Arsenal are now in a position to say not for sale and mean it.

Keeping Kos is key. Strengthening the attack and some positions should be focus next season. Don't mind Wenger being in charge. Funny that #WengerOut brigade are quite myopic about our progress. Winning the FA cup will be a good start to bringing back the glory days.

For all the good things Kos does there is the other side of it where he is jinxed. Own goals, mix ups, penalties and poor marking. I would like someone to come into the team that is not cursed and doomed to the same mistakes we have been making for a good few years now.

I think regardless of the players trotting out the old "Arsene must stay "line a lot of them wouldnt mind a new younger boss coming in and changing this style of football, wall pass's and square balls must account for 60% of our pass rate, and then it finally goes back to chez who launches is upfield!! Im sick of it and our players are better than that and maybe fancy a change!!
