Arsenal have already signed one player from Barcelona this summer and under the radar it seems they have snatched another product of the Catalan club.

Alexis Sanchez traded the Camp Nou for the Emirates earlier this month in a transfer that built excitement for all Gunners fans.

And Arsene Wenger has returned to Barcelona for another player and although this signing is only 15-years-old, it is still one to get excited about.

New youngster joins the club

Georgios Spanoudakis is the latest Arsenal recruit and he is a German youth international with Greek ancestry.

He plays in central midfield and has already featured for the Gunners youth team as he made his debut recently for the U18’s against Lincoln City.

Spanoudakis started his development at Eintracht Frankfurt before moving to Barcelona in 2009 and his latest move sees him turn up at the Emirates.

Similar to Fabregas?

The midfielder is known for his technical skills and passing ability and no doubt will bear resemblance to former midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who also moved to Arsenal from the Catalan clubs youth system.

The Daily Mail believe the German turned down various offers from high profile clubs to choose Wenger’s side and Sportsmail’s Pete Jenson has had his say on the youngster.

Models himself on Mesut

Jenson, famed for his knowledge of the Spanish game, has revealed that Spanoudakis looked up to Andres Iniesta while at the Camp Nou but that he also models himself on a Gunners attacker.

Jenson told Daily Mail: “The 15-year-old looked up to Andres Iniesta at the Camp Nou but also models himself on Mesut Ozil.

“Despite his attacking heroes it’s Sergi Busquets that Barça hoped ‘Georgios’ would turn into before Arsenal persuaded him to move to London. And it was even further back as a central defender that he first impressed the Catalans.

“Left-footed like his role model Ozil big things were expected of him at Barcelona.”

The future certainly sounds promising for Spanoudakis and Arsenal fans will be hoping he can follow in the footsteps of Fabregas and become a household name for the Gunners.
