Arsenal are set to make at least one more signing before the transfer window closes and Sky Sports reporter Jim White is “certain” it will be a big name.

The figurehead for Sky Sports transfer deadline day coverage was taking part in a question and answer session on Twitter and replied to a tweet asking him if Arsenal were expected to make any more transfer before the window shuts.

Although White didn’t list any names his insistence that the Gunners will buy somebody will surely raise excitement amongst fans at the Emirates.

Excellent transfer window already

Arsene Wenger has already delivered in the summer transfer window by securing a move for Chile hotshot Alexis Sanchez and by also adding Calum Chambers, David Ospina and Mathieu Debuchy.

However, the club have repeatedly been linked with a final move for several players with big name stars like Edinson Cavani, Marco Reus and William Carvalho all linked over the last few days.

Earlier it was alleged that the Gunners had bid £51 million for PSG forward Cavani and speculation could now heighten that he is set to move to London, following White’s admission on Twitter.

Excitement is building

After starting the season excellently on Sunday by beating Manchester City in the Community Shield, excitement is building ahead of the Premier League opener against Crystal Palace this weekend.

If the Gunners were to secure another big name signing, as White insists, then even more fans would start to believe this could be the year the Premier League trophy returns to Arsenal.

Could one more signing make the difference?

Following the FA Cup triumphant last year and the Community Shield, winning silverware is slowly becoming a habit now for these Emirates players.

Fingers crossed any new signing coming in between now and the end of the transfer window will help those aims and bring the Premier League title to the Emirates for the first time.

Quoting clockendjim:
We have so many attacking options now, do we really need to sign another forward when the defensive midfield problem has still not been resolved.
It worries me that this job still seems to be Arteta's and we saw him waning last season and he is not going to get any faster now

We need a top striker to work with alexis

We have offense which is a load of *** and can't put away a goal vs ***ty turkish side. Guriod who misses everything who can't pass to a red shirt and sanago who is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard arteta out though as well he has no impact on the gane

I still see Khedira being a very possible addition.
Wenger has enough offensive options at this precise moment and with Vermaelen gone it wouldn't make sense to replace him with a Cavani figure.
