Arsenal are set to sell another centre-half as youngster Ignasi Miquel prepares to join Norwich in the Championship.

Miquel joins Thomas Vermaelen and Johan Djourou in centre-halves who have left Arsenal this summer, with Calum Chambers the only reinforcement in that position to have been brought in.

Ignasi made 14 Arsenal appearances in his 3 years since breaking through from the Youth set-up in late 2010, but only managed to make 5 Premier League appearances throughout. While Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielney have asserted themselves in the defensive position, Ignasi was forced to look on as the 21-year-old’s experiences were cut desperately short.

The Spaniard spent last season on loan at Leicester where he helped the Foxes gain promotion to the Premier League with 12 appearances and a goal in the League Cup against Fulham.

He now looks certain to make a move to Carrow Road in a deal thought to be around £1.5million by the Daily Mail.

Although a bit-part player, Ignasi provided helpful cover at centre-back and makes the need to sign a new defender even more pressing for Arsene Wenger.

Enquiries have been made over Aston Villa’s World Cup star Ron Vlaar along with West Ham’s Winston Reid and Manchester City’s Matija Nastasic.

As we speak Sep 13th Mancity will make a meal out of Arsenal. This squad is not good enough.Wenger is still sticking to his tactics. Something about Wenger and him always trying to replicate the 03/04 invincible squad, from the style of play and movement. Its 2014 Wenger and the verdict is that the "invincibles" had a better first 11.Change your tactics#change your transfer policy#change the wage structure# Otherwise Wenger must go!!!

this man has left me completely perplexed, how he has signed to be here for 3 more season is just beyond me. owners and shareholders has claimed to have monies available to stabilize this sinking gunners ship, but do be leave they are also reluctant to do serious and popper business.

I am sick and tired of Wenger having little to spend any transfer season. He always ignores the main problems that Arsenal is facing. The water bottles will again suffer any time Arsenal loose a match. Pls Wenger, stop smashing water bottles go and buy world class players.

We are all tired of arsene wenger and the selfish board of directors we have. Better for the board to sell the club to Russians who know how to manage and spends money to promote clubs and also wenger to resign as our club manager

10 years no major title. Everybody other than Wenger knows what to do and he fails to address the issues. I started supporting Arsenal becuase of Wenger, but think with age he has become senile and stubborn. In addition, 17 years is too long for any manager to continue, provided he could deliver like Sir Ferguson. Irrespective of whatever happens this year, we either retire Wenger or kick him up as a board member (for his yeomen service to club) and get young blood to take the clubl forward. We need young blood may a guy like Roberto Martinez (Everton) to take the club legacy forward. Thanks Wenger for your services, time to move on and infuse fresh blood. For a change our American owners should give way to the russsian to run the club.

wenge must know that every time we're complaining we're doing that for the love of arsenal'we have being patient for long until we are sick of him. if wenger does not do something the our trust will fade over arsenal as arsenal fans.we have seen him promise us big signing but ends up with sonogo, giroud who does not do any thing .we are tired and now is high time for wenger to do something big this time ,otherwise wenger should quit the job for he is anable to fullfill the promises

Trev, you never know if Arsenal don't take a chance. Who knows the new man could win the epl. What I know is another guy who comes will probably not play Wengers endless passing which leads to frustration in the goalmouth.

I agree, everyone knows that Arsenal need a world class striker, except Wenger? He continually ignores that problem and believes that Giroud and Sanogo is the answer, unfortunately it is not and yet he continues to try and prove a point.

TRY TO NAME ANOTHER MANAGER TO GET INTI THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE EVERY YEAR AS WELL AS HAVING LITTLE TO SPEND, IF wENGER GO´S WHO COMES IN

If Arsenal are unable to challenge for honours,I think Wenger has to pay for his arrogance. Even a well known soccer analyst has described him as stubborn saying that if he had bought a striker last season ,Arsenal could have won the epl.
If Arsenal cant get 4th,he shd finally go. I am sick and tired of his endless passing. Furthermore he blames everyone except himself.
