Saturday afternoon saw Arsenal get their second win of the season and their first since the opening day. After the awful display in Dortmund midweek this was more like it from Arsenal.

However, Arsenal didn’t have it all their own way as they could have been 2-0 down if it wasn’t for Szchesny making two very good saves, the second a fantastic save from a free header by Ciaran Clark.

However, in the 33rd minute Arsenal got their noses in front when Danny Welbeck played the ball behind the Villa defence which allowed Ӧzil to latch onto and calmly side foot it around Brad Guzan. The lead was then quickly doubled when Ӧzil found himself on the left where he played it into the middle to find Danny Welbeck who thundered it into the net to get his first Arsenal goal.

The score line then got worse for Villa when a Gibbs shot come cross came off Cissokho for an own goal to make it 3-0. All three goals scored in the space of 2-3 minutes.

This was as exciting as it got as the second half was just about controlling the game with little Villa pressure.

Ӧzil played in the number 10 role today and was effective which showed all of his critics that this is his best position. The German’s link up play with Welbeck was really good and showed promise that they could be a lethal combination.

Welbeck also opened his account for Arsenal and had a very good game, running the channels and linking up the play. When Arsenal clicked they were precise with their passing and attacked quickly which Arsenal have not done for a while.

This was a very good result against an in form Villa side and continues Arsenals undefeated start to the season.

I agree wholeheartedly with Victor. All these armchair managers talk ridiculously. It's one thing to talk the talk and another thing to walk the walk. IOt's jsut not as cut and dried as they tink it is. I do wish they wold jsut be quiet and support the team.

Most of Wenger's critics couldn't even manage a fantasy team successfully. Just saying. He is not always right, and even may be less effective but he certainly knows more about football and about Arsenal and Arsenal players than a majority of these sofa-set critics. Honestly, if you can do better than Wenger, you are a gem in the world whose team would win the UCL, the world cup or something like that. Seriously, quit your current job and save the Arsenal or a team of your choice. Else, just SU.

Wenger should be the one to blame Ozilz's deep he is a sturbon n stupid msan he plays Ozil off position. He is also not ambitious. Doesn't have the desire to win trophies since Alex Song left we haven't go a genuine DM. Why?

All Ozil Critics wish they could delete their the ignorant/shallow comments they have been posting recently. The best answer is always on the pitch. Awesome!
