The 10 days following the Gunners demolition of Aston Villa, should have ignited the squads credentials and challenging aspirations, with 3 home fixtures in a row before the daunting task of facing arguably the best team in the Premier League, Chelsea.

Southampton home was a disappointment, and worse the Derby against Spurs. More so, not the result but the fatalities we suffered during the match. This was supposed to be “THE FIXTURE”, however we were found wanting, and wanting all over the park. Spurs didn’t have a good game, but we made a mediocre Spurs side walk away with a point, after we should have put them to the sword.

The worst possible outcome was losing Arteta, Ramsey and possibly Wilshere. However, reports suggest Wilshere will be fine and could make it to face Galatasaray in the Champions League match on Wednesday, but should definitely be ready to face Chelsea on the weekend. The fact that our engine as decimated leaves a lot to be desired and a lot of questions have to be answered.

We have been playing Jack and Ramsey in almost all our matches, and does this show the confidence Wenger has in the other central midfield players, players like Diaby (who I am sure Wenger is being conservative because of his crocked nature), Tomas Rosicky and even Carzola (shift to left and move Ozil at 10).

We have an abundance of midfield talent, and we should be adopting squad rotation and keep the players fresh. With Ramsey out, at least Wenger has fewer headaches with choosing his starting 11, and at the same time play Ozil where he prefers to be played, through the middle. Arteta has been poor since the start of the season, and I get the feeling he won’t be missed that much, but who do we call on, Flamini who has not had a single positive contribution to this team from the start of this season, or do we get Diaby in to cover our DM position, and hope that every time he goes to the floor he gets up.

Our injury list looks something like this Monreal, Debuchy, Arteta, Ramsey, Walcott, Giroud, all of which are first team players, or at least be 1st in line off the bench. This is definitely a concern, and the only glimmer of light is, it’s early in the season rather than the business end.

So where to from here, I for one cannot wait for the return of our own PRODIGAL SON, Theo Walcott, he will add something totally different to this team, and will allow our central midfielders to play the ball in space, and not just the regular short passing game. Walcott will definitely change the dimension of our team, and our attack play. I certainly can’t wait for his return, and it seems it will only happen after the international break.

We take on Galatasaray mid-week, and boy is this NOW a must win game, our backs are against the wall. With only 4 WINS from 11, from the start of the season, and that’s including the two qualifiers for the UCL, and Community Shield, I just threw it in there else it would have been 2 from 8, which is much worse; Our backs are definitely against the wall. It will be a very interesting match, with all the experienced yet just passed their prime; they could make it very tactical and difficult for us to break them down.

They have made a decent start to their domestic campaign, 1 WIN, 1 DRAW and 1 LOSE, and the fact that they drew at home to Anderlecht, they to need to get something out of this game. Wenger should go straight for the kill, and deliver a performance like NAPOLI at home in the UCL last season, where we demolished them in the 1st half.

His starting 11 should be, well in Arsenal case can be: Szczesny, Defence – Gibbs Per Koscielny Chambers, Defensive Mid – Diaby, Midfield – Carzola, Ozil, Oxlaide, Sanchez with Welbeck up top. The bench to consist of anyone left that’s not injured being Ospina, Conquelin, Bellerin, Flamini, Rosicky, Cambell & Podolski. Not too shabby starting 11, only problem is can Diaby hold the fort and protect our back four. The midfield should WIN this one, get onto the ball and attack, play the way Dortmund did when they played us, let’s be Hungrier, Faster, and more precise than them, and guess what I feel another Welbeck goal on the cards.

Let’s hope for the best, we need this one, then off to Chelsea, and pull another sensational away win out of nowhere. Let’s back the boys, it’s not always their fault you know, and let’s see if Wenger can weave his magic.
