Hiding behind a series of first-team injuries, Arsène Wenger will be hoping that his Arsenal side can get their Champions League campaign back on track this Wednesday.

Must win game

The Gunners will line up against Galatasaray, knowing that anything but a win at the Emirates Stadium will be seen as a failure by the fans and management.

Saturday’s draw against Tottenham Hotspur was responsible not only for dropped points, but dropped players, as Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere all fell victim to injury.

Midfield warriors

The manager admitted the severity of Arteta and Ramsey’s medical issues, claiming that the pair may be out for up to a month of competitive action.

However, he did confirm that Wilshere would be in the squad, while he also lauded Mathieu Flamini’s impact in the team.

The Frenchman feels that, “His experience is vital to us. I took the opportunity to re-sign him and I'm pleased I did.”

Theo Walcott and Serge Gnabry will both increase Arsenal’s attacking options after they return to full training next week, therefore, the expected team for the midweek game is looking like this:

Expected line-up

Szczesny – Chambers – Mertesacker – Koscielny – Gibbs – Flamini – Rosicky – Cazorla – Özil – Sanchez - Welbeck

Winning edge

While admitting that the match against Borussia Dortmund a fortnight ago was not good enough, Wenger revealed that he feels the games in London will determine whether or not the Gunners exit Group D.

"We don’t lose a lot but we want to find the winning edge together. We are maybe more under pressure to win the game than if we had won the first.”

"You want to win your home games. You need one good result away from home and then win all your home games.”

Win at all costs

With the other three teams in the group collecting points in their opening match, Arsenal can afford nothing but a win to keep up the heat in the race for knockout qualification.

With attacking options still aplenty and a home advantage that the best in Europe fear, one would expect that the Gunners have enough to beat their Turkish opponents.

Another must win game, I am sick of hearing this, and it is only October. Arsenal needed a holding midfielder, and a central defender (with pace). Whilst the manager was absent, we purchased a forward (whose decision?) Wellbeck was a reasonable purchase, but the managers quotes have done him no favors. I do believe he (Wellbeck) will succeed, but begs the question who is in charge of the club.
Have said this before, do not expect Arsenal to reach top six unless they somehow are in the mix at Christmas, and purchase top quality players in the January window. Failure to do so, could shorten Mr Wengers fading career

Not expecting much from this line out, I jusy hope Wonga doesn't play Ozil on the wing, if he does we are going to loose.

Wenger comments are no more saleable to the fans hearing, all are nothing but a crap.No passion again in a watching Arsenal match because we have already known our position in the league table.

I think wenger should find another defensive midfielder in next transfer window. As we know flamini play under form in recent match. Wenger have to think twice if he wants to win a title this season.

Is anyone as sick of hearing Wenger's innane blather as I am? His sell-by date expired a few years ago.
