Jose Mourinho gave credit to Arsene Wenger today on Goals on Sunday and stated that Wenger has the dream job and is the envy of every manager.

Mourinho was pressed on his relationship with Wenger, “He’s a fantastic manager but I think he has a fantastic situation to be successful.”

Mourinho also spoke about Arsenal’s stability as well as waiting for success to come; “I think every manager in the world would like the stability by being here year after year after year, to buy to sell and rebuild and wait and wait for success.”

However, Mourinho was quick to point out that success must come with the talented squad Arsenal have with the likes of Walcott, Ozil, Rosicky, Alexis and Chamberlain and he was surprised that Arsenal were not closer to Chelsea and Manchester City.

“When I look at the players and the squad I really think they have to win.”

Mourinho was complementary through the whole interview and said that Wenger deserved the stability he has enjoyed and said he gained the credibility he deserved when Arsenal won titles in a period of time.

This was a shock by Mourinho as Wenger has always had a war of words with Mourinho but this shows the mutual respect Mourinho has. Mourinho is right that Arsenal need to be closer and to win titles again as they do have a talented squad and with the right additions in the summer the club can go again. Arsenal have showed an improvement in this respect in the last two summers with the additions of Ozil and Sanchez.

The last point is a personal note;
I would like to thank everyone’s support over the last year as today marks a year writing for Arsenal Latest.

Mr. Wenger has not been gifted his longevity. He has earned it through his work over the last 2 decades. We can argue about whether he should have had more success. It is a moot point. He is obviously valued by the club. Mr. Mourinho, despite his obvious success with his teams, seems to wear out his welcome every 3 or 4 years, wherever he goes. So, for him to be sarcastic about Mr. Wenger's situation is to the beg the question: What is different about you and the clubs you manage, Mr. Mourinho, that you have not found a more permanent managing situation?

Jose is there just because of money to buy players. He cant bring up good players like wenger. Wenger has managed and
has achieved success not necessarily wining trophies only but promoting young people and talent.

from my angle i still hear a dizz and polite insult to Arsene cos what does he mean by “I think every manager in the world would like the stability by being here year after year after year, to buy to sell and rebuild and wait and wait for success.” if not saying Arsene is scared to succeed

I never ever believe in Mourhino words. he always find a way taunted/ to provoke Arsene. This time he puts it in a polite ways so, that it won't notice or look so obvious. History told the stories behind it, He just being sarcastic and he is smarts enough to use media as the fastest way to channel his motives and proclaim he is the special one.

I think Jose is the only manager in the world that have spent alot of money in buy players, even if it comes with success, the success in it doesn't count is you look at the expenditure.

Do me a favour, if you can't recognise sarcasm and general snidey remarks you must be deaf, this mumbling ignorant disingenuous prat is all about being a smart arse and playing to the press and media,Goals on Sunday was a total borefest of this clowns preaching while no one had the bottle to shut him up or ask him a few searching questions,, like Cahills tackle on Sanchez for starters?. On my to Maureenio equals mute button...

Daniel Hobson, you come across as rather naive. Mourhino is a sef seeking person, and despite all his profusions, is ever after glory for himself even before the club that hired him when nobody will touch him with a long pole after Real Madrid. He press give him all the ink because he sells, and unless you are one of his 'griots', don't be taken in by whatever he says about the honourable Wenger.

after every poor result

jose picks on another manager

after chelsea were criticised for the negative approach in the home game against man city

his response

"if liverpool had played like that against us in April - they would have won the title"

Yup. Mr José having a dig. It is called sarcasm.

Please. He is taunting Wenger. He loves to debase Arsene by claiming he is not under the kind of base pressures to perform instantly that are foisted on the Special One.
