As quoted by Arsenal’s official website, manager Arsene Wenger has given an explanation as to why he is not overly concerned with Santi Cazorla’s extended absence.

Santi Cazorla is undoubtedly one of the most crucial players for Arsenal and this fact was evident last year as the midfielder’s season ending injury coincided with the Gunners’ drastic loss in form.

During the current campaign as well, Arsenal have not quite look the same fluid force since Cazorla’s absence due to an Achilles tendon problem picked up during the Champions League encounter against Ludogorets last month.

Worryingly, there has been no timescale set on when Cazorla will be making a return to full fitness and even manager Arsene Wenger has gone on to admit that he does not know when the Spanish international will return to action.

Arsenal fans are clearly hopeful that Cazorla will be able to get over the problem as soon as possible but Wenger has now gone on to hit that he is not obsessing over the absence of the 31-year-old.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s clash against Bournemouth this weekend, Wenger emphasized on the importance of Cazorla to his side but insisted that the other midfield players available in the squad are good enough to fill the void left by the veteran midfielder.

Arsenal midfielders good enough to replace Cazorla

Wenger told Arsenal’s official website, “He’s important to our technical stability in the team, to the quality of our decision-making and to our build-up from deep midfield to the high midfield. That’s an important stage because it gets the ball out from the defenders.

“We have enough quality players in our side to get around that, even if Santi a massive player for us. We are good enough to find solutions despite the fact he’s not there.”

Arsenal do have a plethora of options at the middle of the park in Francis Coquelin, Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey and the aforementioned players should be able to step up to the plate to do a job in the absence of Cazorla.
