Arsenal will lodge a £42.5million bid for Luis Suarez in the hope that the deal can be sealed before next weekend’s Emirates Cup campaign.

The offer rises from the £40m+£1 offer tabled before by Arsenal in the hope of triggering the Uruguayan’s release clause, however Arsene Wenger is endlessly unlikely to rise above £45million for the hitman.

With Liverpool holding out for £50million, it is likely that no deal will be struck until Wenger dishes out the extra funds, despite Suarez representatives pushing for a move away from Anfield.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has sparked a lively debate in his recent comments about new signings this summer.

The French boss, known for his traditional frugality towards splashing the cash on big name stars, instead prefers finding hidden gems like Cesc Fabregas from the Barcelona academy. This summer was thought to be the polar opposite, with Arsenal being linked with expensive trio Wayne Rooney, Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez.

However with Rooney likely to spend another season at Old Trafford and Higuain’s bags packed for Napoli, Suarez remains the Gunners’ sole hope of a marquee signing.

Is Gervinho on his way?

The transfer of Gervinho looks close to being finalized with a £10 million deal being reported by Metro. Roma originally had a £6 million bid rejected but are likely to match Arsenal’s asking price.

With Arsenal’s ongoing pursuit of Bernard, Arsene Wenger is keen to free up some funds and finally get rid of the Ivorian. Gervinho’s coach at Lille, Rudi Garcia, is desperate to link up again with the winger who will add some extra pace to Roma’s front line.

Gervinho will be the 7th major player to leave Arsenal as part of a summer clear out, a decision which is likely to go down well with Arsenal fans.

Yet another rebuffed bid for Luis Suarez will be improved and sent right back to Anfield, in an attempt to finally land to wantaway forward.

The saga has now run on for weeks, with Liverpool’s reluctance to sell the Uruguayan becoming clear by their constant moving of the goalposts.

It looks like only £50million will be enough if we are to see Suarez donning the Arsenal crest next season.

Repetition

The saga has run on so long and with so many minor twists and turns that all the stories surrounding Suarez are beginning to look very similar.

Wantaway Liverpool man Luis Suarez wants his future to be resolved within the next 48 hours, after Arsenal saw their £40,000,001 bid snubbed by the Reds.

The £40million+1 turned out to be a clause in the player’s contract, which said that the player had to be notified if there was an offer over £40million offered, yet Liverpool are still not inclined to sell their star man.

Liverpool are “surprised” to hear that Suarez wants a move to another English club, after he told Brendan Rodgers that he “still likes Liverpool” but “wants to play in the Champions League”.
