After sustaining an injury and being forced off after only 50 minutes of Arsenal's victory over Sunderland on Saturday, there was concern over Jack Wilshere's availability for upcoming crucial games in the FA cup and Champions League.

Arsenal play Blackburn followed by Bayern Munich in the space of four days starting from Saturday, and Wilshere will have one of the tests of his career (though one could argue having passed the Xavi-Busquets-Iniesta test he doesn’t have much to worry about) when the German champions-elect come to North London.

With the recent wave of corruption allegations surrounding football, ranging from match-fixing to doping, Arsene Wenger has suggested more needs to be done to identify drugs cheats.

There have been varied opinions on whether doping is in issue in football, with Cristiano Ronaldo's opinion being as such: "Is football a clean sport? Yes, 100 percent. I don't think these types of things exist."

While Ronaldo denies it, Marcel Desailly and Danny Mills have stated they both believe doping is an issue and know players that have doped. In a Telegraph article today, Mills said players "would go abroad to get illegal treatment", and that players would "do anything to get an edge".

England fans and the media alike were full of praise for young Jack Wilshere following his performance for the national team during the 2-1 win over Brazil on Wednesday night.

The young Arsenal midfielder has long been touted as the next jewel in the England crown and after his display at Wembley, it's no surprise.

Wilshere was in superb form during the victory, although it wouldn't have appeased Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger that the 21-year-old played the full 90 minutes of the friendly.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud believes he has made a better start to life at Arsenal than former hero Robin van Persie in his debut campaign in north London.

The France international moved to the Emirates Stadium over the summer after much speculation linking him with a move to the capital following an impressive season with Montpellier.

Giroud netted 21 times in Ligue 1 as La Paillade secured their first domestic championship in their history, leading to speculation 26-year-old with a move away from the club.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will once again be ruing the international break after reports suggesting a number of regular first teamer's had picked up knocks while away with their respective countries.
