Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has heaped lavish praise upon former teammate Petr Cech.

Cech joined Chelsea from Rennes back in the summer of 2004 and it is fair to state that the goalkeeper was one of the most crucial figures in overseeing the Roman Abramovich revolution at Stamford Bridge.

The custodian made close to 500 appearances for Chelsea during his 11 year stay at the club and helped them claim a whopping 15 major trophies.

Former Arsenal star Ray Parlour has gone on to speak regarding the moment when the normally composed Arsene Wenger lost his temper with his players.

Arsene Wenger is arguably one of the most measured managers in the world and during his two decade long stay at Arsenal, the Frenchman has rarely shown emotions of anger, unlike some of the other over exuberant managers in the Premier League.

Wenger’s ability to control his emotions is certainly one of the 67-year-old’s biggest strengths and most of the players whom he has managed over the years clearly respect him for such a quality.

Speaking after Chile’s astonishing 3-1 victory over Uruguay, La Roja manager Juan Antonio Pizzi has gone on to hail Alexis Sanchez as one of the best players in the world.

There were a lot of doubts regarding Alexis Sanchez’s participation ahead of Chile’s all important World Cup qualifier clash against Uruguay on Tuesday night as the attacker had suffered a hamstring injury in training just a few days ago.

Given the fact that such injuries should be approached with a lot of caution, it was expected that Sanchez would be ruled out of the clash against Uruguay but much to the surprise of many, not only did the 27-year-old feature but he also starred by grabbing a brace in Chile’s 3-1 victory.

Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, youngster Alex Iwobi has admitted that he did not expect to become a regular for the Gunners first team so early into his career.

Alex Iwobi is clearly an extremely talented young player and the 20-year-old has most certainly enjoyed a meteoric rise in his fledgling career so far.

Having broken into the Arsenal first team last season, Iwobi has managed to establish himself as a regular for the Gunners during the current campaign and he already seems to be ahead of the likes of more experienced players such as Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey.

Speaking to ESPN, former Arsenal striker Paul Mariner has stated that Olivier Giroud will not be sold by Arsene Wenger in January.

Despite enjoying a very productive campaign last term, Olivier Giroud has struggled to earn regular minutes on the pitch for Arsenal during the current campaign and this is due to the fact that Alexis Sanchez has managed to flourish in the striker’s role.

Due to the lack of minutes coming his way, Giroud has made subtle hints that he could potentially be leaving Arsenal if the situation does not change soon and there have been reports that a host of clubs from Italy are open to the idea of signing the French international.
