Arsenal seemingly cooled their interest in Crystal Palace youngster Wilfried Zaha after Theo Walcott moved closer to a contract renewal.

According to today's Times United have held talks with Palace about signing Zaha, but are yet to agree a fee. Any deal United complete will likely involve him being loaned back until the end of the season to help with Palace's promotion push.

The fee United pay could be around 15 million, though the loan signings Palace are thought to want haven't been mentioned.

The Times are fairly reliable, so don't be surprised to see Zaha in a United shirt next season.

Not much action during this transfer window is a worry for some Arsenal fans. However the return of Abou Diaby acts as a transfer in itself.

The 26 year old Frenchman has been out for the majority of this season due to injury but looks set to make a comeback against Manchester City this weekend.

Spending most of his career in the hospital bed has made Arsenal fans think about the importance of his role in the team but his return could be a large boost for the team who have been playing nervous football as of late.

French Eurosport are today reporting that West Ham are interested in defensive midfielder Etienne Capoue. Capoue is a player repeatedly linked and watched by Arsenal in the last year or so, though no concrete bid has come of it.

Now it seems that Arsenal's London neighbours West Ham want to sign the player.

Diame

Arsenal are interested in activating the release clause of Mohamed Diame, who currently plays at West Ham, and it's possible that Capoue is seen as a replacement for the Senegalese. However, Capoue seems to have much more of a future, being a success for France and turning in some impressive performances for Toulouse.

As Sao Paulo move closer to completing a deal for our forgotten Samba star Denilson, a lot of fans must be wondering why a player who supposedly had so much potential is being shipped off to Brazil?

Most of us will remember his quick feet, great long-range strikes (like the one against Everton during our 6-1 demolishing of them in the first game of the 2009/10 season), and his rather amusing celebratory dances after scoring.

So why did it go so wrong?

Well to start, timing was not great. His tenure at Arsenal was at the same time as such midfielders as Diaby, Song, Diarra, Gilberto Silva, Flamini and Fabregas. A lot of stiff competition for the Brazilian.

Former Arsenal striker John Hartson has commented today on his countryman Aaron Ramsey, suggesting he would benefit from a loan spell to get regular playing time and regain his form.

"I just think he needs that run of games," said Hartson.

"Maybe if he did go out on loan he'd get that, because he doesn't seem to start many games at Arsenal now and when he does start he's brought off and he doesn't look happy."

It's worth pointing out that Ramsey has to contend with a somewhat crowded Arsenal midfield with a number of players in the same position as him. Hartson acknowledged this, saying:

"With Arsenal you look at their midfield. Arteta, Wilshere, Walcott, Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain, they've got some really, really gifted players in the midfield," said Hartson.
