Arsenal have not placed any offer for Andrea Belotti

Arsenal have widely been linked with a move for a Andrea Belotti over the past few days and recently, Torino director Gianluca Petrachi went on to claim that the Gunners had placed a whopping £56 million offer to sign the striker – which was rejected.

Petrachi had told Sky Italia, "We received and refused a €65m offer from Arsenal for Andrea Belotti, but it does not reflect the value of the player.

Wenger happy with Welbeck

After almost eight months out with injury, Danny Welbeck made his long awaited return to the pitch during Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Preston North London in the FA Cup third round clash at Deepdale on Saturday night and the striker nearly marked the occasion with a wonderful long range goal.

Welbeck was thwarted by a fine save from Preston goalkeeper Chris Maxwell but nonetheless, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was happy with what he saw from his fit-again striker on the night.

The Frenchman told Arsenal’s official website, “He has been out for such a long time, that just for him to get 15 minutes was great. I think I had a hesitation.

“Had we not come back early I would perhaps have brought him on earlier. He thought he had 20 minutes in his legs and in the end he nearly scored, so that’s good.”

PSG eyeing a cut-price move for Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez’s contractual standoff with Arsenal has been well documented in the media and the disagreement between the two parties has led to a host of clubs monitoring the situation of the frustrated Chilean international.

Now according to reports from the Daily Mirror, Arsenal have been handed a huge cause for concern as Paris Saint-Germain have recently made Alexis’ representatives aware of their interest in the player and the French giants will be plotting a £60 million move to lure the 28-year-old to the Parc des Princes at the end of the current season.

Arsenal severely depleted for Preston North End encounter

Arsenal dropped more points in the title race following a 3-3 draw against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in midweek and the result was most certainly a very disappointing one for the Gunners.

The North London giants will now be looking to get over the setback this weekend as they begin their FA Cup campaign with a clash against Preston North End at Deepdale and the encounter is certainly one which the Gunners should be winning.

However, Arsenal are not heading into the game in the best of shapes fitness wise as manager Arsene Wenger has ruled out six first team players for the match on Saturday.

Arsenal players fear Alexis Sanchez’s exit

 

Arsenal came from three goals down to claim a remarkable 3-3 draw against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday night and considering the circumstances of the game, the result can be viewed as a positive one for the Gunners.

Despite the comeback though, one Arsenal player who was visibly not pleased was Alexis Sanchez. Upon the final whistle, Sanchez wildly ripped his gloves off and threw them on the ground, and his frustration at Arsenal dropping two points in the title race was apparent.
