A comfortable 5-0 win against Villa with numerous players having excellent games see Arsenal stay 5th and move a point behind United.
Ospina - 7 – Ospina had little to do but when called into action he made the required save. An excellent save with the last shot of the game and preserves his run without conceding a goal.
Bellerin - 8 – An excellent game by the young Spaniard showing quality in defence and attack. Bellerin looked impressive and assured at the back but also a threat going forwards. Moreover, he also scored a side footed effort in injury time.
Mertesacker - 7 – A comfortable afternoon for the big German and continues to look solid next to Koscielny.
Koscielny - 7 – Koscielny looked assured but had little to do but again kept a clean sheet.
Monreal - 7 –Monreal put in another solid display and capitalising on this good run of form.
Coquelin - 7 – Coquelin looked very good again reading the game and putting tackles in when required although it was a fairly quiet afternoon.
Ramsey - 7 – Looked calm and focused when involved in the play. Also, looked good going forward and contributing in the final third and tested Guzan in the first half.
Walcott - 8 – Walcott made his first premier league start of the season and scored his 5oth goal for arsenal with a great finish.
Cazorla - 9 – Cazorla was brilliant again dictating the play in his favoured central position. A goal and two assists shows his importance again.
Ӧzil - 8 – Ӧzil returned to league action as well and was instrumental in the win. Provider for the 1st goal with a great flick to find Giroud but got the crucial 2nd goal so Arsenal could relax.
Giroud - 7 – Giroud had a good game scoring the first goal and contributed to a lot of the play in the final third.
Akpom - 7 – Akpom got another 20 minutes for Arsenal and looked impressive. He won the penalty and could have scored a placed finished but was saved by Guzan.
Rosicky – 7 - Rosicky again showed his quality within the 20 minutes he got. Often kept the ball and effortlessly travelled forward with the ball.
Flamini - N/A – Didn’t have much time to have an influence.
Overall, a really good win for Arsenal without having the outstanding Sanchez available. Performances of Walcott and Ozil will please Arsenal fans as it will provide competition for places.
