April started off with a bang and saw Arsenal move up to second. Goals from Bellerin, Ӧzil, Sanchez and Giroud showed why this Arsenal side are offensively as good as anyone in the Premier League.
Ospina - 6 – Never really got tested and maybe should have saved the penalty. Can only recall one save being made.
Bellerin - 7 – A very good game the only negative was conceding the penalty. Scored a wonderful left footed curler to make it 1-0.
Mertesacker - 6 – Defended well in large parts of the game and was never in any trouble.
Koscielny - 6 – Defended on the front foot making sure Liverpool couldn’t get in behind and get their intricate passing together.
Monreal - 7 – Defended well as well often stopping the cross and staying on his feet. The form Monreal has shown has been remarkable since the turn of the year.
Coquelin - 8 – A fantastic game by Coquelin once again showing his importance by making key tackles and making a handful of key interceptions.
Ramsey - 7 – A quiet game for Ramsey but showed quality in attack although he often drifted out the right wing position which made him ineffective at times.
Cazorla - 7 – A quiet game for Cazorla however he hit the post in stoppage time.
Ӧzil - 8 – Ӧzil showed his class once again in the Arsenal midfield. Ozil scored form a free kick to make it 2-0.
Sanchez - 7 – Scored a great goal to make it 3-0 but was quiet in large parts of the game and showed his fantastic work ethic once again.
Giroud - 7 – Giroud had a quiet game but scored a great goal in stoppage time. Shown in on his left foot, Giroud curled the ball into the far corner.
Subs
Gabriel - 6 - Game on around the 50th minute and carried on the good defensive work.
Flamini - N/A – Didn’t influence the game.
Welbeck - N/A – Didn’t influence the game.
Overall, a great win for Arsenal and showing that their mentality against big clubs has changed. Is a title challenge on, only time will tell. One thing for sure is that the game against Chelsea is going to be massive.
