Saturday night football saw Arsenal record their eight consecutive win which is the first time since the invincibles. A goal by Aaron Ramsey was enough and brings Arsenal within four points of Chelsea once again.

Ospina - 7 – Dealt with everything that came his way although there were not many clear cut chances.

Bellerin - 6 – A quiet game for Bellerin although, he did defend well for large parts of the game and gave Arsenal an outlet on the break.

Mertesacker - 7 – Dealt with the long balls that came Arsenals away and defended well all game.

Koscielny - 7 – Was first to most balls and read the game really well often making key interception to stop Burnley progressing.

Monreal - 7 – Monreal kept up his good form by having a solid game at left back against the dangerous Trippier.

Coquelin - 9 – An outstanding performance by Coquelin once again proving he is an asset to this Arsenal side. Broke up the play well and has an excellent reading of the game as well as always being available to receive the ball.

Cazorla - 7 – Making his 100th league appearance for the club Cazorla was fairly quiet in the game but often played the ball well and kept it simple. Cazorla has seemed to flourish in a deeper role next to the excellent Coquelin.

Ramsey - 8 – Got the all-important goal to secure the three points and kept his discipline on the right side of the Arsenal midfield.

Ӧzil - 7 – Ӧzil was a lot quieter than last week against Liverpool but worked hard for the team and kept it simple.

Sanchez- 7 – The hard working Sanchez was fairly quiet in the attacking third but allowed Arsenal to counter quickly and get up the pitch.

Giroud - 7 – Not Giroud’s greatest game and didn’t test Heaton once but it was a fairly scrappy game. However, he offers a focal point to the attack which was important today.

Subs

Welbeck - N/A – Didn’t have much time to influence the game.

Chambers - N/A - Didn’t have much time to influence the game.

Overall, it wasn’t the greatest game but Arsenal came away with an all-important three points. It was a good solid defensive performance by the Arsenal. Next week is the semi-final in the FA cup so let’s go to Wembley and have a good performance and progress to a second consecutive final.

It was indeed scrappy win but the game was so tight and a 1-0 win wasn't bad.

Looking at the first three comments, my immediate reaction was "some people are never satisfied!" You play the way it is necessary each game. If Walcott had come in we wuld have one less to help defend because that he does not do. It was more important to defend that one goal than to risk conceding......at that time.

The game was so frustrating. Per keep passing to Ospina. Everyone keep passing backwards. Kudos to Ramsey for the goal but he should not be playing on the wings! Work rates plays a part, as well as speed. Our counter attack was quite slow at times. anyway, a win's a win.

Welbeck did more in his 15/20 mins than Giroud did in the entire game! This might have been an ideal chance for Walcott in the last 15 mins too when legs were tiring and we needed some pace to get behind the Burnley defence.

Thought Giroud very poor today, won one ball in the air today that's about it,Ramsey scored but thought at times slows our play down by turning round and going backwards, were desperate for some pace in and Welback provided this in his cameo performance
