This afternoon’s match saw Arsenal drop a crucial two points but it could have been a lot worse if it wasn’t for the excellent Cech. Arsenal dominated possession but didn’t really cause Valdes many problems.
Cech – 9 – Cech had an outstanding game in goal and saved Arsenal on numerous occasions.
Bellerin – 6 – Got forward but his final ball was lacking today.
Mustafi – 7 – Mustafi continues to impress early on in his Arsenal career and look to dominate the backline.
Koscielny – 8 – Another outstanding game this season and is proving what an excellent defender he is.
Monreal – 6 – Looked nervous again against the pacey Traore and lacked a decent cross in the final third.
Coquelin – 7 – Was solid in the centre of midfield but lacked aggression.
Elneny – 6 – Tidy in possession but didn’t dictate the game like Cazorla.
Walcott – 6 – Quiet on the right and didn’t really get a chance.
Ӧzil – 6 – Was very quiet and didn’t really get into the match.
Iwobi – 6 – Wasn’t at his best on the ball and the ball regularly bounced off him today.
Sanchez – 7 – Worked hard and had Arsenal’s best chances but struggled up against two tall centre halves.
Subs
Perez – 6 – Looked lively once he came on but didn’t really get a chance.
Oxlade – Chamberlain – 6 – Came on to play central midfield but didn’t really get into the game.
Overall, this will go down as two points dropped but the positive has to be that we didn’t lose. The big matches will be important this year due to how tight it has become at the top. The only consolation is Spurs also dropped points.
