Arsenal come away with no points but the biggest headline will be the dropping of Alexis Sanchez. A better second half after an abysmal first but let that not takeaway what an awful evening it was. Welbeck gave Arsenal hope when pulling one back to make it 2-1 but Liverpool sealed the win in injury time.

Cech – 6 - No blame can come his way for any of the goals and pulled off a couple of important saves.

Bellerin – 6 – A couple of good runs going forward but was troubled all evening by the attacking three of Liverpool.

Mustafi – 6 – Part of the shambolic defending in the first half but did look more solid in the second.

Koscienly – 6 – Some of his decision making was awful and could have done better in some of the mess.

Monreal – 6 – Has been a liability for large parts of this season but I thought he defended well today against the dangerous Mane and was probably Arsenal’s standout defender.

Coquelin – 5 – Summed up Arsenal’s performance. Coquelin needs to sort his decision making out as he often invites pressure which allows teams to run at the heart of the defence.

Xhaka – 5 – Wasn’t his greatest passing display and not great defensively.

Oxlade - Chamberlain – 7 – One of the only players who can hold his head high as he worked hard defensively and tried to make things happen. Suited to the central midfield role as evidenced in the second half.

Iwobi – 6 – Worked hard but needs to improve his defensive side of the game.

Welbeck – 6 – Did well considering it’s his first league start since injury. Grabbed a goal and will only improve as he plays more games.

Giroud – 6 – Held the ball up well and only had one effort which was well saved.

Subs

Sanchez – 7 – Brought on at half time and made an immediate impact. An absolute baffling decision to even consider dropping him.

Perez – 6 – Couldn’t get into the game once coming on.

Walcott – 6 - Couldn’t get into the game once coming on.

Overall, an awful performance and the Wenger doubters will be in full force tonight. However, it will be well deserved after a questionable decision dropping Sanchez. Arsenal next play Bayern but that tie is over which makes Lincoln a massive fixture a week today.

Sos .Time for the board to step in and get a new guy.It cannot allow the fm to dictate when he wants to leave. Before the game ,I believe if Arsenal play like Pool in the foxes game they will lose.
Wenger's record against the top teams makes you wonder he cannot play anti soccer. His one dimensional attacking style was a gift for Pool's 3rd goal.
I say enough is enough. As for the BM game if Arsenal can score 4 goals is a long shot.
I have a feeling that after so long Arsenal could be about to be 5th/6th/7th in the epl by May.
Thanks for the memories.
