Brendan Rodgers further stirred the pot yesterday over the rumbling Suarez transfer situation by claiming "I always associated Arsenal with class" following our latest bid.

The Liverpool boss went onto reiterate that his prized asset was not for sale.

“I have to admit I was surprised by their bid of £40m and £1... I always associated Arsenal as a club with class,” he said with cutting incision.

“There may be playing a game there, but we will just move on and do our own work, and the message is constant: we do not want to sell.

“I think there will become a point when they will understand that. They have an interest and put that interest in with two bids that is nowhere near where what Luis would be worth. That is within their right, there is a market for players, but our message is constant.”

Arsenal in limbo

Whilst all the talk of Suarez handing in a transfer request and asking Liverpool to accept the offer remains just that: talk, we need to look at alternatives.

Surely it would make more sense to try and complete other business whilst waiting to see what the next development in this is, as the performances over the weekend highlighted we are far from the complete outfit.

Arsenal are a small club, you've not even won the champions league once!!! Hilarious, do you think you'll win the 4th place cup again this year?

Small club? Are you actually serious?

Hang on a minute is suarez is d only player arsenal need? When other areas r need to sort out,now suarez issue is cool down and there is no attempt to get better goal keeper, defender, defe nsive midfield and a winger or a right back? Now am getting worried bcs that team i saw in d emirates cup is not good enough to 4th place let alone to win any trophy this is a complete joke!!

It's funny how Liverpool fans suddenly keep tabs on arsenal's article. U want to keep a player that didn't attend the gala night for Gerard testimonial. Wah happened to the phrase " NO PLAYER IS BIGGER THAN THE CLUB". And to AFC even if we get Suarez expect him to wanna leave to Madrid after 3 seasons.

I tend to agree with pool fans who are upset about this whole sorry saga. I was eequally distraught with the Barcelona mafia when they prised Cesc from us. Football is a dirty business. What disapponts me most is the annual lie-fest from Wenger, and the fact that we are pretending to be interested in such a scumbag as Suarez.

Quoting Tomé Morrissy Swan:
Funny how all the talk in this saga is coming from liverpool. Wenger has said next to nothing

Gracious throughout ,one can sense the humility seeping out of every pore of the man's being.

In fact if it wasn't for the sanctimonious drivel that falls from his mouth every season,we would all be basking in the light of his divinity.

Potential sainthood or indeed Martyrdom clearly in the offing.

Arsenal are such a sly club, trying to act like they are above board and dignified, but all the while you get these little slimy digs at Liverpool from Wegner about how Arsenal are doing things properly and not talking about any negotiations, while implying Liverpool are are unprofessional for releasing information. Here's some news for you Wenger, Liverpool are not obliged to keep anything quiet, they can say as they and do as they please, while Arsenal just want total control over the Suarez issue and are not liking Liverpool behaving otherwise, the only club that has to play by Arsenal's rules is Arsenal, btw there isn't any negotiations, all your bids have been rejected, yet you persist with unsettling Liverpool in the vain hope they will cave into your insulting under valuation.

Makes you laugh, you hear Wenger, Wiltshire, Arteta, Giroud to name a few bang on about Suarez, yet some Arsenal fans think that isn't talk, simple truth is there is as much mouthing and gamesmanship coming out the Emirates as there is from Anfield.

Love how when Real Madrid do this to Bale its a disgrace, when United did this with RVP similar, Barcelona with Fabregas.... But Arsenal fans will try to justify it when they are doing it. Didn't Liverpool get a £5 million fine for doing this with Zeiger (paying the get out clause which was confidential)?

What are you talking about Tomé, Wegner has been talking plenty enough about Suarez, don't try to say otherwise.

There's no rush on the Suarez saga, he can't play for the first 6 games and the transfer window doesn't close until the end of the month.
#2 Casey 2013-08-05 12:32
This is going to turn nasty, we should show them scousers we are class above them and at least make an acceptable bid. I hate the thoughts that we could be behaving like Barca and Real, Wenger should should stop saying we do our business in private when he won't stop talking about attempts to sign Suarez. We are better than this.

If arsenal don't buy then fans will go nuts! more then ever cause they say there is money to spend. They should at least not brag about it if you don't want to spend it.
