Luis Suarez will stay at Liverpool this summer.

The Uruguayan had supposedly been agonisingly close to a move from Liverpool  to the Gunners, with bids ranging from £40,000,000 to…. £40,000,001 failing as Brendan Rodgers hung on to his man.

Opportunity for a big signing!....

Suarez has had a turbulent time at Liverpool, serving bans for racial abuse and biting. This summer he looked set to leave Anfield after he publically announced his intent at a transfer, and Arsenal were among the only sides to pounce.

Suarez had flirted with Real Madrid in an attempt to catch their eye, but funds are seemingly short with world record bids for Gareth Bale being readied.

The Premier League’s 2nd top goalscorer last season apparently spoke personally with Martin Charquero of GolTV Latin American and told him he would be staying.

“Luis Suarez confirms to me he will not leave Liverpool. The support of the fans has influenced his decision.” Charquero tweeted.

"Suarez see it as likely that he'll sign a renewal (extension) to the contract that binds him to Liverpool."

..Aaaand it’s gone.

The Gunners sole hope of a marquee signing looks to have gone amiss with David Moyes categorically ruling out any departure of Wayne Rooney, and Gonzalo Higuain already settled in Napoli blue.

As the departure list rises endlessly and Yaya Sanogo remains the sole import of the summer, pressure on Wenger to make numerous signings late on in the window rises – or face a fans backlash.

Suarez’s U-turn highlights yet another missed opportunity, as another £10million (£8million of that raised from Gervinho’s sale) would have brought the prolific Uruguay international to the Emirates.

Have faith.

There was no way the cannibal was going to come to the club, Wonger must have known that, it was all smoke and mirrors by Wonger , he can always turn around now and say ...."well I tried to bring in a big name" bollocks Wonger this transfer was never going to take place, the pool would never sell to us, unlike us (RvP to the Manure) they would not let this happen without a big fight or some silly money transfer.

WE are a selling club make money for the board and Feck the fans.

We're are the big mouth gunners now? Rick the dick , Sam, and the rest of you LOOSERS , we told AFC fans from the start you wouldn't be getting him, and also said your owners were shouting from the roof tops we have £70 million to spend, was all just to take pressure off the board and now they have left you lot looking rather daft ! Hahaha all us reds are loving it, just imagine this forward line SUAREZ, COUTIHNO, STURRIDGE, WILLIAN, WITH CAPTAIN OF ENGLAND ( gerrard ) sitting behind them along with are other summer signings , but I do feel sorry ( not ) for the gooneys with missing out on , higuain, villa, suarez, etc and your on about plan s by now keep the great job up AFC owners, or are you's THFC owners? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAJAHAHAHA

Such an impressive lineup you need to include a player that doesn't belong to you (Willian) in there.

Sad fact for Liverpool is Tottenham are likely to beat you for Willian, being the better team and Villas-Boas a far more attractive proposition for players to work for, compared to Brendan "Cliché" Rodgers.

Whether Suarez stays or goes, bar a minor miracle, i'd place whatever you like on Arsenal finishing above Liverpool yet again next season. You'll do well to finish 6th.

Dont be too downhearted, maybe Bendtner will sign a new contract :)

Forget Suarez! Join my fantasy league instead, "Couch Professionals" Code: "30417-338548". Winner to get FIFA14 or FIFA15. head to head league and mostly gooners

An I the only one who wanted to get aubumeyang in the beginning of the summer? Look at how his performs at Dortmund now surely he would have been a great signing.

Red hot louie. When you're back at school ask them for some English lessons... here are some for free...

Where, not we're.
Losers, not loosers.
Our, not are.
You're, not your.

No wonder there was confusion over the clause in Suarez's contract. If LFC employed people like you then it's clear where the problem lies.

Enjoy your battle for 7th place... I think you'll get it. WBA and Swansea don't look that strong to me.

come on tarry, he didn't decide to stay. liverfools pc are the mid table incompetent and low class club keeping suarez by all means to frustrate themselves
-2 #13 tarry 2013-08-14 12:39
So Luis Suarez has decided to stay at Liverpool...Wenger needs to return the dog(Suarez)Muzzle he had bought for him..or donate it to liverfools
+6 #12 taiye 2013-08-14 12:30
I don't know wtf arsenal ff boards were thinking bidding £40,000001 for suarez. the board were really smoking something as j.w henry said. what was the £1 supposed to mean to liverfool pc? arsene knew that the £1 will just piss them off. in order to cover his *** impo***t face and trick us fans that he really tried signing the talented bucktooth, he added a f**king £1 to annoy liverfools. why the heck did arsene bid £1 instead of just leaving it at exactly £40m. atleast come on guyz, £40m is more honorary and respectable than £40 000001 isn't it? arsenal were really smoking dried s**t. I must say arsene went off track and behaved like a 14 year old greedy badger who thinks he is always the right man with an extremely extraordinary sense of sh*t business. well we'll tell him that we dont fall for that trash. arrgh, he's just so arrogant of himself. he'd better resign before its too late.
-6 #11 GoonerC 2013-08-14 12:24
This does look unlikely to happen now, but I don't understand the problem with the 40m + £1 bid. That was what we believed to be the clause - obviously given misinformation by Suarez' people.

Back to the drawing board! Obviously I'm not worried about Liverpool at all as they're a mid-table club. I don't see Kolo Toure and Aspas gaining them the 12 points they were behind us last season, they only gained six on us when we lost RVP and had the worst start to a season we've had in the Premier League era, and they don't have Suarez, who's their only good player, for the first 6 games

Enjoy mid table.

did anyone actually believe he would sign for us? i didn't. our transfer policy this summer has been an utter shambles. i am resigned to us not signing anybody this summer and the fact of the matter is that we are weaker than we were this time last year.

Bet Gooners are feeling silly right now...he used you to get Real interested..then dropped you like a bag of *** after making you miss out on other targets...I hear one season wonder Michu is available for 30 million and a quid though...chin up eh

Liverpool can not report as the clause exist, they just don't want to sell to a local rival....hmmm
