As Arsene Wenger faces a fans' backlash if he does not reinvest, the latest name to be pulled out of the rumour mill is Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

However an interview with the player’s agent has revealed that there is only one way which Benzema will leave Real Madrid: FEET FIRST.

Having given up on Luis Suarez and missed out on most of the summer transfer targets including the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Vicente Guaita, Wenger supposedly turned his attention to the French striker after the 3-0 win in Istanbul.

Various sources claimed that an offer was being prepared for Benzema and Argentinian teammate Angel di Maria as Madrid look to both raise funds and make space for world record singing Gareth Bale.

Karim staying, says Karim

However any speculation over the 25-year-old France international striker moving to the Emirates was all but ended on Saturday as Karim Djaziri, Benzema’s agent, claimed that he would not be leaving the Bernabeu:

"We can not fight against the rumors, but I assure you Karim will not go to Arsenal," Djaziri told French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche.

"There has never been any discussions and no contact has been established."

Djaziri, who is also the agent of Newcastle winger Gabriel Obertan, went on to describe how the introduction of Gareth Bale to the Galacticos will not have an effect on Benzema’s status at Madrid:

"The arrival of Gareth Bale at Real Madrid is no threat," he went on. "Both Cristiano Ronaldo and and Bale play on the wings and Karim is central.

"We are working on a contract extension for three years. Discussions are taking place quietly, without deadline.

"Karim could well end his career at Real, the club of his dreams."

Another deal looks to be dead, however there will no doubt be replacements at the ready.

just viewed kondogbia on you tube ' he looks slow and clumbersome. Not sharp enough for our midfield ,lacks mobility. To compare him with vieira is totally misguided.Imagine him in our midfield on saturday v fulham(Capoue/paulih no r far superior, and thats hard to admit)

I heard we have 175 million.. Lets be honest, Other than Giroud we don't have another big striker so 40 million for Benzema is required because he regularly scores goals. 25 million for Di Maria, OX is out till Nov an could learn a few things, 5 million for Ceasar is enough and a tempting 30 million deal for Fellaini will bring him in! Stop wasting time Wenger. With the 75 left, 38 for Ozil as Arteta is ageing and I don't see the point in Cabaye but look up Kondogbia on YouTube and tell me he wont fit Viera's role brilliantly..

if arsenal sign a big name center forward, i would feel sorry for olivier giroud. He does not deserve to be benched. The same applies to ramsey. Thats why wenger should sign players that are the same level as existing squad&thats what i think he will do . ie cabaye, ashley williams, flamini,

It is not up to Benzema or his (naive) agent whether he leaves Madrid. The FANS decide. If he is getting booed, Ancellotti will sell immediately because he will not go against the fans. its that simple. No manager goes against the Bernabau faithful, it is suicide to do so.

For all the names banded around this summer, there are no available WC strikers.

No point fixating on what we can't have.

CB, DM and a winger would do us nicely; last year proved we can live w/o a star striker.
Save $30+ million for January, when Suarez/Rooney and others may be available.
