Today the FA released that Theo Walcott will not receive any punishment for his ‘2-0’ hand gesture towards the away Spurs fans as he was being stretchered off during the FA cup clash between North London rivals.

There was much speculation that Theo could be banned or fined for his gesture as fellow team mate Jack Wilshere was only a month previous. Maybe the FA board considered the fact that Walcott was showered with coins by the spurs fans and only reacted with nothing but a harmless joke.

They could of also considered that Gareth Bale got away with the exact same in last year’s Premier League 2-1 loss at White Hart Lane as Bale showed the score to the fans using his hands during celebration.

An FA statement read:

"The FA has contacted Arsenal's Theo Walcott and reminded him of his responsibilities regarding a 'score-line' gesture he made in front of away supporters during the game. The FA will not be taking any further disciplinary action."

The right decision

The FA have seemed to make the right decision in not taking any action against Walcott because nothing he did was offensive, he replied to abuse in a humorous manner and not intending to abuse anyone.

Injury wait

Although Walcott has been given the all clear by the FA he may not be by the medical staff as he had a knee scan today and him and us alike are all waiting for what we hope to be positive news.
