Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Juventus forward Mirko Vučinić after the players agent met with Arsenal officials yesterday to discuss a possible move.

Well sourced journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has stated that Vučinić’s agent Alessandro Lucci met with one of Arsène Wenger’s assistants to discuss the transfer.

It is believed that Arsenal’s first proposal was a loan move but this doesn’t interest Juventus, according to Fabrizio Romano, and Arsenal will talk again on Monday to negotiate a permanent deal for the forward.

Vučinić’s agent will fly to London to meet Arsenal officials and thrash out a deal for his client.

This does rely on the decision Wenger makes over the next few days over whether to sign Vučinić’ permanently, this is according to Romano.

Italian papers believe €12 million euros would be a fee Juventus are likely to accept for the Montenegrin forward.

Although Vučinić’ injured his knee against Bologna on December 6th it isn’t likely to affect this proposed transfer as the striker has recovered with no after effects.

The 30-year-old forward has been kicking his heels for a large part of this campaign, appearing just 11 times for Juve, finding the net on two occasions.

He is a striker more than capable of finding the net regularly as his 14 goals in 2012/13 and ten the season before demonstrate.

With Theo Walcott injured, Vučinić’ could provide adequate cover for Olivier Giroud and is a better option than Nicklas Bendtner up front.

In addition to this he can position himself out wide so could cover Walcott’s loss on the wing as well. Monday seems to be the decisive day in this deal, we wait and see what happens when talks take place.

What I like of vucinic is that he is good on and off the ball. Also, Wenger needs to look at players from Liberia, let us remember a world best George m weah came from Liberia And we have lots of good players
