Arsène Wenger has welcomed new Arsenal signing Kim Källström to the club, whilst the midfielder has revealed his pleasure at joining the club.

Källström’s move to the Emirates has dominated most of the talk surrounding Arsenal on transfer deadline day.

Wenger praises the Swede

Firstly manager Wenger spoke to the official Arsenal site to welcome the Swedish international to the club.

Wenger said: “Kim Källström is a hugely-experienced player. He is a midfielder with proven quality at both club and international level. We welcome Kim to Arsenal.”

‘Here to do my best’

The 31-year-old then spoke to Arsenal Media before the club informed followers to stay tuned to the twitter site to find out the Swedes number.

Källström said on his move to north London: “Arsenal is an amazing club with a lot of great players and a coach who has done really well here for a long time.

“I am so pleased to come here to learn as much as possible. I’m here to do my best for Arsenal and to help out the team, so we can achieve good results for the last part of the season.”

Available for Champions League

The website also revealed that Källström can play in the Gunners Champions League campaign after his parent club Spartak Moscow were knocked out of the Europa League play-off stages.

The move has generated a mixed response from Arsenal fans but Wenger’s judgment will have to be trusted once again.
