News broke today that Alvaro Morata of Real Madrid may be joining Arsenal in a permanent transfer deal.  Morata was linked with Arsenal all the way through January for a loan move to create competition up front but it now looks like a permanent deal could happen in the summer.

The Spanish View

The story broke this afternoon on Bleacher Report in Guillem Balague’s column.  However, he was quick to point out that the fee had not been agreed but Morata is keen on joining Arsenal.

This is what Balague had to say on twitter “Morata has agreed to join Arsenal IF, I repeat IF, I insist IF, clubs agree fee. He will push for Madrid to accept Arsenal's offer”

A few stats

Morata netted 45 times in 83 appearances for Real Madrid B.

Morata has scored 5 times in 27 league appearances for Real Madrid. Although, a lot of these are substitute appearances which means it is not a true reflection.

In 11 Spain U21 games he has scored 12 goals.

On the deal

The deal looks promising but until the fee has been agreed you can’t really get excited.

However, it looks like a step in the positive direction and I believe Morata will be a hit in the Premier League.

Alvaro Morata’s movement will be key as well as the willingness to run beyond defenders which will help the likes of Ӧzil and Cazorla.

Let's have him and joel campbell 4 strikers in sanogo, giroud, campbell and morata not sure if I'm rite but other teams have 4 or more don't they? Its not to be like other teams its so that we will have 4 different types of strikers! Coyg!!! (I would prefer to sign cavani, costa, or falcao! Dream ends)
