It’s that time of season where someone needs to sign a new deal. This time it is not Walcott but indeed Bacary Sagna. According to goal it is believed that Sagna is close to agreeing a new 3 year deal which will put him close to 100k a week.

Bacary Sagna is close to reaching an agreement with Arsenal over a new contract, Goal understands.

Sagna’s representatives have held positive fresh talks with the club and the Gunners hierarchy believe they have made a breakthrough in their attempt to extend the player’s deal beyond this season

This was written by Wayne Veysey who is normally quite good when it comes to Arsenal.  Let’s hope this is true and Sagna has showed this seaon why he is still considered one of the best right backs in this country. This can be seen because teams such as Liverpool and Man City are chasing him.

This would bring the end to negotiations which have lasted 18 months and is understood that Frankfurt’s Sebastian Jung is the number one target if he was to leave.

Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna, 31, is set to open talks with Manchester City after rejecting Arsenal's £80,000-a-week contract extension offer.

What a grabbing little tosser her really is, 80 grand a week and still wants more. The club stuck by him through his injuries and this is the thanks, he can fook off as far as I am concerned and the sooner the better.

two words = Serge Aurier

This kids is going to be a star and unlike Sagna can actually put a cross into the box and score goals. If Sagna has not signed an Arsenal contract yet (18 month saga), he obviously does not believe in the team and does not want to be here any longer. BYE!

Are you high on something? Have you ever watched an Arsenal game? In full I mean, not just highlights.

Bac's can't cross? What matches have you been watching? He's a defender. I would worry more about my RB covering the wing and any pocket or delivering a cross from meters out (like all Arsenal defender's have done in the past) than have a go at the goal. If anyone deserves a new contract it's him. He's been loyal for seven years and could have easily exited three years ago.

Ib - Sagna cant cross? Him and Gibbs (when fit) are the only ones that cross...you need to watch an Arsenal game once in a while sunshine. None of our midfield crosses.

Sagna has probably been our most consistent performer and deserves a big last contract...i dont blame him for negotiating hard when ***s like Park and Bendtner are still on the books!

We should sign Aurier, even if Sagna stays.

Sagna is still an excellent right back, and useful as a backup centre back, and Aurier is clearly far better equipped to make the right back position his own, unlike Jenkinson, who will never be anything more than a backup right back for a top side.
