With the World Cup at the halfway mark and pre-season looming in the distance, Arsène Wenger is ready to put his media duties to one side in order to find Arsenal two new strikers in time for the 2014/2015 season.

French Connection

It is thought that Wenger is ready to trigger the reported £8 million release clause with QPR, in order to obtain French striker Loic Remy, whom the club have been linked with heavily in the past.

The striker, whose partnership with current Gunner Olivier Giroud on international level has been tried, tested and seen as a potential winning combination, would be a welcome to addition to a side that has only two recognized strikers on their books of present.

It is thought that Remy would be interested in a move to boost his chances of Champions League football, while the prospect of working with legendary manager Wenger is too difficult to turn down.

Forward Thinking

Despite the likeliness of his arrival at the Emirates Stadium this summer, Le Professeur is adamant that signing two strikers is imperative to increase Arsenal’s squad depth in a push for the league title next season.

While there were heavy rumours over Italian misfit Mario Balotelli making a dramatic return to the Premier League with Arsenal, it is thought that a move is no longer on the cards and that the club will turn to other forward options.

The club know however that signing players such as Alexis Sanchez or Karim Benzema will come at a high price, especially after their good run of form during the current World Cup in Brazil.

Therefore, Wenger may be more interested in taking up the cheaper option of Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata or Bayern Munich’s want away target man Mario Mandzukic.

Money can’t buy you love

With a reported £100 million to spend, Wenger will need to use his money wisely if he is to take his Arsenal side to the top of the league table for the first time since 2004.

11 players were released from the North London club yesterday, clearing plenty of room for a world-class player or two to arrive to Arsenal in time for the new season.
