After weeks of negotiations, Arsenal have finally agreed a fee with Barcelona for forward and World Cup star Alexis Sanchez.

Hey Big Spender

The Daily Star confirm that the clubs have finalised a deal worth approximately £32 million, which would make the Chilean Arsenal’s second most expensive transfer of all time, following Mesut Özil last summer.

As reported by Arsenal Latest on Saturday, personal terms with Sanchez have already been agreed, Italian journalist Nicolò Schira has tweeted that Sanchez will earn £4.5 million a year with additional performance related bonuses.

However, The Metro have broken the news that if Juventus can match Arsenal’s offer, Sanchez would consider moving back to Italy, where he spend three years making his name at Udinese.

Getting Shirty

The deal will excite Arsenal fans around the world, who are now hoping that there will be an official announcement from the club, which may coincide with the Puma kit launch on Thursday 10th July.

Signing Sanchez would finally put an end to Arsène Wenger’s long-term search for a new striker, after deals for Gonzalo Higuain and Mario Balotelli have fallen through in recent years.

Statto Sanchez

Sanchez had a scoring contribution of 1.09 per game last season (courtesy of Opta Sports), an impact on his club that was only bettered by Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Gareth Bale.

If these statistics were transferred into Premier League terms, Sanchez would only have been less effective than Sergio Aguero, Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.

This is something that will fill Arsenal fans with confidence, after their lack of firepower up front towards the end of last year’s campaign caused them to finish fourth, after leading the table for the majority of the season.

Money on my mind

Arsenal fans are finally getting used to being linked with top players after last summer indicated a shift in the clubs spending policy.

Everyone associated with the side will hope the Sanchez can bring what Özil did last season to the team. A world class influence to add an extra bit of quality in order to compete for all four trophies.

What are you waiting for Wenger...this is supposed to be a done deal by now please. We all want to see him and Debuchy revealed on Thursday. I am beginning to visualize another Thierry Henry doing his thing in Arsenal colors. Welcome to Emirates Sanchez.

where would we fit Sanchez in the current formation? Let's take a look:

if (4-2-3-1):

Giroud
Sanchez, Ozil, Walcott (Cazorla,The Ox?)
Ramsey, Wilshere (Arteta?)
Gibbs, Kos, BFG, Debauchery

Cannot see Santi and Ox being happy on the bench.

Get the deal done Wenger. I'm impatient. And if you sign Sanchez, he will be one of the best signings for a long time.
