Southampton’s Calum Chambers completes Arsenal transfer for a reported fee of 10 million plus add ons which could make the deal worth £16 million.

The deal is expected to be announced tomorrow and will play back up to Debuchy but will also be Arsenal’s 4th choice centre back.

The information comes from the reliable BBC journalist David Ornstein;

Chambers expected to be announced on Mon, will join Austria camp. Ospina fee about £3m & #AFC still in market for DMF + DF if Vermaelen goes”

I am personally excited about the deal for Chambers. I have seen him play a few times and he looks fantastic.

Arsenal are strengthening the squad and adding much needed depth. The signing of Chambers is a good one as he adds much needed versatility. Chambers can play all across the back line covering all positions as well as defensive midfield.

Furthermore, it looks like Arsenal are still active which is really good.  Once this deal is confirmed Arsenal will have signed 4 players in 18 days with still plenty of cash to spend as these 4 deals will have been done for under £60 million.

Could this season be the season where Arsenal return to Premier League title winning glory?

Jenkinson has a lot of potential and it would be unfair to criticise his performance. Jenkinson has not had enough game time and would've benefited from a run in the side. Let's not forget 18 months ago Ramsey was in and out of the side and not performing, and he came good in the end. Fed up reading about so called Gooners slagging off our players, get behind the team instead of knocking individual players!

Jenkinson has always seemed lost, not an Arsenal material.
