Arsenal are looking at Juventus striker Sebastian Giovinco.

It is understood by Italian media that Arsenal have launched a loan bid for the Juventus attacker.

However, Arsenal will face competition from Italian side Torino who have recently sold Cerci.

Giovinco doesn’t boast the best record at Juventus by only scoring 11 goals in 79 games but I believe he has been mostly played out wide and in midfield.

It may also be worth noting that Wenger is currently about to fly to Rome to manage a team in the peace match meaning it is now down to chief transfer negotiator Dick Law and Ivan Gazidis.

Sources such as Sky Sports are saying that a striker is unlikely and it may be just defensive cover.

This message has then been backed up by the Telegraph’s Jeremy Wilson but he is quick to point out things can quickly change.

Things can change but sense at Arsenal is that likely to be quiet day. Maybe c-back cover but major striker signing looking unlikely #afc

This is a day for patience and hopefully Arsenal can pull off a deal.

With Arsenal they usually come out of nowhere.

"Wenger flies to Rome, Arsenal to look at alternatives"

For a second my heart was filled with joy, thinking that the headline meant we were seeking an alternative to Wenger. Alas, no such luck
