As the clock ticks on transfer deadline players are still being linked with Arsenal which will allow Arsenal fans still to have a glimmer of hope.

Italian Journalist Tancredi Palmeri tweeted the following;

“Wenger is in Rome to join the 'Match for Peace' for the Pope. Rumours around already that he will meet Roma for Destro.

In fairness, Wenger did hold contacts for Destro until 2 days ago. But (if true) could be too short time for Roma to find a replacement”

I don’t know how much truth is in this but Arsenal have been linked before with Chelsea. At the moment any striker with experience and good quality will do to make sure that this squad can compete. Destro stats are good at Roma with the striker making 41 appearances and scoring 19 goals. However, Destro got married a couple of days ago which may be a stumbling block.

Moreover, the king of Sky Sport’s deadline day Jim White is doing a question and answer session. An Arsenal fan asked him of any Arsenal news and he said on vine

“ I definitely expect Arsenal to make a signing before 11 o’clock tonight, we are watching that one closely for you.”

This will give Arsenal fans a bit of hope as Jim White is well known for receiving information on transfers.

Additionally, another striker Arsenal are now being linked with is Alvaro Negredo. This is because Daily Mail chief football writer Lee Clayton tweeted this info;

“Just had a call to say don’t rule out Arsenal and Negredo, but City surely won’t sell there and he and his family keen to return to Spain”

If these rumours are true then it shows Arsenal are still active, I will take any of Negredo and Destro as both could to a job in this Arsenal side.

It’s going to be a long night.

We are tied of Wenger with his empty promises,its now true,we will never achieved anything under Wenger leadership you sell good players very fast &you take years to sign,you don't love Arsenal & you don't care about the funs all you are after money,we missed signing good player because you are too rigit,let another person try you have failed us.with Wenger as the coach,we will never ever achieve anything its high time you pack and go.

Sango wouldnt get his place in any other Prem Team yet wenger gives him 17 starts eith no return.
Give Cambell and Podolski a chance but ffs sign a prolific goalscorer and respect us fans wenger

they will never get rid of him until ready to leave he makes them so much money but yes he is destroying arsenal and we will be doing no more business in window and that will cost us another silverware free season. we need striker and cdm but his in rome playing at ref what a ***in prick, and he says he is doing all he can to get the players we need, cost us falcao who he could of got on loan also lost remy to chelsea because again to slow and tight fisted also manalo, carvalho and rabiot all players arsenal needed spent all season doing another ***ed up job chasing khedira who never come close to signing, remind you of anything,drakier last season. he really as one opinion his own and thats why arsenal will again win nothing the quicker his 3yr reign runs out the better it will be for arsenal football club.

This crazy last day policy by our once great club is betraying our wonderful fans,financially squeezed by ridiculous ticket prices. The whole rotten edifice of owner, directors and scandalously overpaid, complacent manager needs to be swept away in a tsunami of fan protests and people brought in to run the club who love it, not to milk and ruin it.
