Arsenal have joined the race for Juventus superstar Paul Pogba, as Arsene Wenger seeks to strength the squad he has at the Emirates with injuries wrecking havoc with their season.

The Gunners boss has had to content with a number of injuries this campaign and means they find themselves 13 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea.

They are also four points off West Ham United, who occupy fourth place, and therefore a move for the former Manchester United youngster makes sense.

Pogba is rated as one of the best young players across the globe and has been a revelation for Juve since moving to Turin in 2012.

Gunners were close to signing the Frenchman two years ago, and the Metro believe they are ready to bid £40 million for his signature.

League rivals Manchester City made an approach for the 21-year-old this week and Daily Express believe Arsenal are now in the race.

City view Pogba as the perfect person to replace Ivorian powerhouse Yaya Toure at the Etihad.

But if Juve would allow the midfielder to depart then Arsenal will try to flex their muscles in the transfer window by looking to sign the youngster.

Wenger is a huge fan of the French international and believes he is the perfect play to add to his squad at the Emirates.

Signing Pogba would certainly ease some of the pressure on the Gunners boss and would bring more excitement to the Arsenal fans after a disappointing season so far.
