Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko has stated that he is happy to stay at St. James’ Park this season following reports he wishes to leave the club.

The midfielder has been impressive this season for the Magpies, turning the heads of several clubs in Europe including Arsenal and French side PSG. Sissoko himself also spoke that the North London side were "the club of my heart" several weeks back amid speculation which linked the Frenchman to the Gunners.

It was reported that Ligue 1 champions PSG were interested in bringing the French international to Paris however is Sissoko has said:

"My goal was to come to England because it was the championship that best matched my game and I do not think I am wrong.”

"So I want to stay here and grow at one of the biggest clubs in England. I have a preference for the Premier League and I see myself staying here.”

He also indicated that he does not want to make the switch to the Emirates this season following statements that he would like to speak to Wenger is there was interest:

"I am focused on Newcastle. I have a four-and-a-half year contract so in my head I still tell myself I am still here for four years and a half. They appreciate me here and everything is good."

He did state however that if a deal happens in the future, then it happens but he is not going to try and force a move anywhere:

"I am not saying that I absolutely want to go or not. If it happens, it happens. I am at Newcastle and I will continue to work until one day I have the chance to play at a very big club.”

When asked about any potential moves, he replied:

"Nobody has called me. My agent and I have not spoken to anyone.

"PSG is one of the best clubs in Europe. If I'm lucky they are interested with me. These are difficult things to refuse. I cannot say yes or no but it is an interest I would take into consideration."

As of yet, no bids have been made for Sissoko and until then, the 25 year old seems very happy to stay with the Magpies this season.

He would say that would not he. Speculation is ruining the game, players no longer know who to trust. So they say whatever the media wishes to hear, in order to print a story.
If a top six team came in for him, he would be off like a shot, unfortuantely Newcastle are no longer the team they were. Shame because they use to be a great team
