Theo Walcott has been a subject of interests from Liverpool and Manchester City as he is believed to be unhappy about being a fringe player at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are now reported to be keeping tabs on his potential replacement in Pedro Rodriguez, who is akin to the English international in terms of pace and position.

Following the arrival of Neymar dos Santos and Luis Suarez, the role of the Barcelona academy product has not been so illustrious as the winger is seen on the sidelines more often than not.

The patience of the 27-year-old has now grown thinner as he now looks for fresh challenges outside of Spain.

Liverpool, Inter Milan and Manchester United are also known to be keen to sign the World Cup winner, who has just one more year into his current Barcelona contract, but Arsenal are adamant not to let the Spaniard slip again, having unsuccessfully attempted to sign him last summer.

The Camp Nou club may want to cash in on the Gunners’ interest rather than losing him for free the next season.

The winger has been involved in seventeen goals this campaign and can be expected to join hands with his former Barcelona team-mate Alexis Sanchez, who has gained an iconic status after leaving the Catalonia outfit.

Walcott has failed to maintain his progress over the past three years, starting less games and scoring less goals, maybe it is time for a re-think, and a replacement. Wenger must make the correct choice, a winger with pace and ability who will track back for the team
