Theo Walcott showed Arsenal what they would miss in the event of offloading him with a first-half hat-trick against West Bromwich Albion in the final game of Premier League, but English media suggest that the former Southampton starlet may still be used as Raheem Sterling bait this summer.

The 27-year-old is entering the final year of his contract and it is believed that Arsene Wenger is adamant not to let him mess around by setting a deadline for him to decide on his future with the Gunners.

Raheem Sterling and his agent have time and again expressed his desire to leave Anfield alerting Manchester City, Arsenal and a host of European heavyweights, but it is now believed that the Emirates Stadium outfit may have an advantage over their competitors as they now possess what Liverpool desperately want – Theo Walcott.

The Liverpool youngster is under contract until 2017 and is valued at around £60million. Rumours suggest that he may be tempted by Champions League football and a deal worth £130,000-per-week and the London club would not find any difficulty in offering these enticements to the want-away winger.

While also adding a proven Premier League goal-scorer to their roster, Liverpool will have gotten rid of a Raheem Sterling shaped menace in the event of the swap deal coming to fruition. At the same time, the FA Cup holders will have a world-class winger at their disposal. Who would not fancy a win-win situation?

I am an Arsenal fan and I also agree that Theo Walcott is much experienced and better striker than Raheem, but the issue of injury proneTheo has to go. Raheem is very promising and young only 20 and Theo is 27, good trade LE professor.

We should keep Theo instead. This is a terrible trade for us

That would be a terrible swop. Theo is much better than Stirling. I don't see it happening
It's just paper talk again.

Sincerely it will indicate shortage of idea by Wenger to let Theo go in favour of the Liverpool player Sterling. What Wenger needs is strengthen the defending midfield, by giving support to Francis Coquilin, Central defense.

Proven goal scorer? In one game? You must be kidding. Liverpool will not sign your dead wood.
