Arsenal have been dealt a serious transfer blow as fresh reports from the English media claim that Karim Benzema would continue to spearhead the Real Madrid lineup, at least for this season, despite strong media suggestions stating that the official announcement is underway.

Karim Djaziri claimed that his client had never really looked to move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer and also put an accent on his happiness over staying at the Spanish capital, thereby fending off the chances of last-gasp bids from the Gunners.

"Karim Benzema is very happy at Real Madrid and he will be a Real Madrid player by the end of this transfer window, 1,000 percent. Karim is not looking to move anywhere this summer."

Going by the words of the France-based agent, all the rumours that have been going rounds on the media now turn out to be baseless as even Arsene Wenger and Rafael Benitez had also rubbished the links in the past.

No credible journalist but the attention-seeking Emanuele Giulianelli had been reporting the transfer and thus, there is very little to no possibility of the London outfit confirming the transfer of their long-term target.

Arsenal will henceforth be strongly linked with Edinson Cavani as the Uruguay international recently opened up to the media about him being played out of position by Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc.

What a surprise. Another case of the media whipping up a baseless frenzy. And already trying again with this Cavani nonsense.
I'd love a new striker but I'll believe it when I see it.

The perfomance of Arsenal against Liverpool left me asking questions as to whether the team is interested in winning the Premier league . However it gave me hope that Wenger must have realised he has no striker in Giroud . Imagine if Walcott or Chamberlin had started as strikers !! The team would have beaten Liverpool hands down . As a fan am frustrated at Wenger's trust in his compatriot . After the match i decided to watch videos of goals from Thierry Henry , Bergkamp and Ian Wright and what I felt was a deep sense of nostalgia !!!!!
