Zbigniew Boniek wants Roma stay for goalkeeper

Arsenal have been widely criticized for pulling off just a single signing in Petr Cech this summer and Zbigniew Boniek seems to have jumped on the bandwagon, but for an entirely different reason.

While speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, the former Polish international claimed that the Gunners had made a huge mistake in letting Wojciech Szczesny depart the Emirates Stadium, albeit on a temporary basis.

"Wojciech Szczesny has a dry loan for a year, but if all goes well I am convinced that he will remain with Roma. Arsenal made a mistake to send him away as he is much stronger than Petr Cech. He is very happy to stay in Rome, he is happy with the team.”

The former Roma midfielder predicted that the 25-year-old custodian would extend his stay at the Stadio Olimpico beyond this season and added that newbie Petr Cech could never match his strength.

Tottenham warn Son against purchase of red-coloured cars

Mauricio Pochettino brought down Heung-Min Son for a fee believed to be in the region of £22million from Bayer Leverkusen. While the South Korean is believed to be adapting to London colours, Tottenham head honchos seem adamant to not let him buy any car that is painted in the very colour of north London.

“Tottenham officials already told me I can’t even buy a red car. I’m very excited to play against Arsenal. Whatever match I play, I want to score goals. Since I’m a forward, my goal-scoring record will speak for me.”

David Dein defends transfer policy as fans slam Arsene Wenger

David Dein follows the suit of the likes of Nicolas Anelka in supporting the Arsene Wenger in the midst of widespread criticism from fans and the media alike for failing to sign a striker this summer. The former vice-chairman claims that the longest serving Premier League manager must have a reason to back his decision to make Olivier Giroud the sole centre-forward at Arsenal this season and added that he always knows what he is doing.
