Iwobi urges more respect towards Wenger from the Arsenal fans

Arsene Wenger has come under a lot of criticism in recent times from the fans following another disappointing campaign and the supporters are looking to pressurize the Frenchman to leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season by organizing protest marches, unfurling banners during games and even flying planes over stadiums with anti-Wenger messages.

Arsenal attacker Alex Iwobi has not been left too impressed with the protests though and has urged the club faithful to show more respect towards Wenger after all he has achieved with the club during his two decade long reign.

Iwobi told the Daily Mail after Nigeria's friendly draw with Senegal on Thursday night, “They need to have a bit more respect in my opinion.

“I mean, he's been at the club for 20 years, he's achieved a lot, obviously they're a bit impatient with the results and where they want to finish. We also want to finish there, we want to win the league like anyone else, I can guarantee we are trying our hardest.

“Whatever happens we are the players, we affect the result. We don't really look at the banners or what fans are screaming, we focus on trying to do our jobs on the pitch.”

Koscileny urges Arsenal players to take more responsibility

Arsenal are currently on a terrible run of form and the 3-1 defeat against West Bromwich Albion means that the Gunners have slipped down to 6th position in the Premier League table.

Manager Arsene Wenger has understandably come under a lot of fire for Arsenal’s poor displays over the past few weeks but defender Laurent Koscielny believes that it is the players who are actually at fault for not producing the goods on the pitch.

When asked about Wenger, the French international said, “He's someone who's been very important in my career. It's him who gave me my chance at Arsenal, who fashioned me as a player and as a man.

“We're in a complicated situation but it's not only his responsibility. It's us, on the pitch, who have to do more.”

Arsenal eye £25million swoop for Arda Turan

Leaving aside Arsenal’s troubles on the pitch, many fans are worried that star duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil might end up leaving the Emirates Stadium next summer as both the players have not signed extensions to their respective deals which expires in 2018.

It does seem that preparing for potential replacements for Sanchez and Ozil will be a good idea for Arsenal and reports from the Times claim that the Gunners will make a move for Barcelona star Arda Turan if one or both of their star attackers departs the Emirates Stadium next season.

Turan has struggled for regular first team football at Barcelona due to the presence of stars such as Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez and Arsenal are said to be interested in signing the 30-year-old Turkish international during the upcoming summer for £25 million.

Iwobi is a young player who needs to keep his mouth shut on this matter cos any criticism of the fans over this Wenger out situation will backfire on him. Like all these billy big shots having their say Lehman, Giroud etc they all share one common denominator and that is they don't pay thousands every season for season tickets, they just earn thousands a week instead. We the fans are the ones getting mugged off by this arrogant old man who seems to think he's entitled to a job for life and 8m a year while not producing the goods, apart from the millions he puts in greedy Stans pocket every year of course.so ALEX,button it and just get on with your development, hopefull y it will be more successful than some other younger players who have not been so lucky under Wenger ,

arsene wenger is outdated with football and way is has progressed and developed in the past years. he sticks to the same brand of football all the time. the same game plan. they would 60% posession, 300 + passes, but not a single shot at goal. what type of football is that. Wenger please do yourself and especially Arsenal football club a favour and move on. allow someone with new and fresh ideas. someone that will bring a different brand of football, an exciting brand of football to Arsenal. who cares what Lehmann wants, he is a has being like arsene wenger is. so Arsene Wenger, Arsenal football club is bigger than you, it will be here long after you gone, so put the club first and not your own selfish needs and your ego. please do us all a favour and step down. we have lost great players in the past, because of your inability and vision to move Arsenal football club forward in the right direction to compete with the top clubs. when you think of van persie, sammie nasri, sagna, to mention a few, and to top it off, you sold them to your rivals in the premier league. so please step down and move on . thank you. ENOUGE IS ENOUGH !!!!!!!!!!!
