Arsenal are expected to perform some minor rotation of their formation and starting 11 for tonight's big Champions League game with Schalke 04.

After the horror show against Norwich, Arsene Wenger is looking to bounce back quickly with a result against the high-flying Germans, who beat champions (albeit weakened) Dortmund at the weekend. He says his side are 'Over it' regarding The Norwich Game. Let's hope he's right.

A striker? False! Nein!

It looks like the 'false 9' formation with Gervinho playing as a roaming centre forward will make a return tonight. It was used against Olimpiacos to reasonable success and Southampton with great success. Whether the Ivorian is in the right form to play as he has in that formation is another question, but he is still our top scorer this season.

In other news, Aaron Ramsey is expected to start out on the right as he did against Manchester City, which suggests Wenger is looking to retain possession better in the middle of the park. This is consolidated by the return of Francis Coquelin to central midfield, as Diaby is still a bit off fitness and Wilshere played for the U21s two days ago.

Return of the Kos

Laurent Koscielny has recovered from his back problem and should take a place on the bench, though there have been murmurs of the out-of-form Vermaelen being dropped. Hard to see, though, he is the captain.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still injured though he should return for the QPR game, while Theo Walcott is still a couple of weeks away.

Schalke weakened

I say 'weakened', but their problems are not as great as our own, sadly. Defender Kiriagos Papadopolous is out injured, as is German prospect Julian Draxler. The main problems for Arsenal, Klas-Jan Huntelaar and Ibrahim Affellay are fit, however.

Let's hope for a decent response and a step towards the knockout round.
