It's nearing that wonderful time again, not quite the 'interlull' but still an international friendly game.

England announced their squad today, and while a couple of Arsenal players missed out (Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gibbs, both injured), all the available players made the squad.

Risky business

There was a fair bit of broohahah about Jack Wilshere's possible selection for England having just come back from injury and so on, but Roy Hodgson seems to have won out this time.

Wilshere's suspension for the Fulham game may have impacted on his decision, as he'll have a weekend rest and probably won't start for England. By all accounts he's eager to return to the England fold, so this probably isn't the issue some have made it out to be.

Theo Walcott has also received a call-up (as he does), though amusingly he's listed in the 'midfielders' section of the squad. Roy trying to tell you something, eh?

Corporal Jenks fights for his country

Now he's committed his international future to England instead of Finland, Carl Jenkinson is awaiting clearance before he can join up with the England squad for the friendly against Sweden. He turned out for the Finnish U-21 side, so his changing of allegiance needs to be taken into account.

Let's just hope none of them are injured, eh?

With our luck they will both get injured and be out for months.
