The Barclays Premier League recently conducted a fan poll on the best player playing in the league right now, the best player to have ever played and the best prospect for the next 5 years.

Arsenal players both current and former naturally made an appearance in most categories.

Bring on the Ox

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was somewhat surprisingly voted the most promising future prospect, with 17 percent of the vote, while Jack Wilshere, who seems the more likely candidate, receiving 13 percent and coming second.

Manchester United's Tom Cleverley made up the top three, presumably by being a young-ish Manchester United player. Standard.

Thierry Who?-ry

Somehow Thierry Henry missed out on being voted the greatest players to ever play in the Premier League, coming second behind Ryan Giggs, and just ahead of Steven Gerrard, who also appeared in the 'best of the moment' vote despite being a shadow of his former self.

Giggs probably earns it for his long service and success, but for sheer entertainment it seems wrong not to give it to The King. Maybe his third loan spell will tip the balance.

There were no Arsenal players in the vote for the best players of now, from which you can take what you will, but Robin Van Persie, who owes his career to Arsenal, came in second behind Wayne Rooney. Yeah. Not that the public are biased or anything...

Wilshere came second because he's already
A star and 'rising' in this context is related to
Getting to Leo's level and if possible
Surpassing it.
