We all have to do things we don't want to. Sometimes I have to fell mighty oak trees to traverse a raging current. Or sacrifice entire villages to appease the Sun God. But all that pales in comparison to the evil Arsenal must commit on Tuesday night.

Annoying

Neither Aston Villa nor Stoke decided to do us any favours this weekend, going ahead early before losing to late goals. Hence, Arsenal MUST win their last two games if they want to play Champions League football next season.

On paper, Wigan and the already-safe Newcastle don't present much of a threat. Wigan have a Cup-Final hangover, but are fighting for their lives. They have to win at Arsenal. And sadly, Arsenal have to win as well.

Lovely, scrappy underdogs Wigan. Their manager is such a nice man... Always struggling and just staying up. But no...they have to go down, for Arsenal to stay at the top of European football. It won't be easy, either.

Wigan 'did' Arsenal at the Emirates, with far less to play for than this time around. They'll come out of the blocks, and Arsenal will have to cope with that, as well as summoning up some attacking fluency to exploit the gaps Wigan leave behind.

If Arsenal can beat Wigan (they really should), Newcastle will be a relative holiday. Down to their third-choice keeper, without key men and nothing to play for, we can only hope Arsenal grind out another result.

After all, if Chelsea and Spurs can, why can't Arsenal?

Quite frankly, if they can't beat 18th and 15th, they don't deserve 4th place and all it entails.

So, because Wigan won the FA cup means they are a better than Arsenal. They should remember portmouth.

To be honest arsenal don't deserve a top 4 finish this season, Tottenham have been the better team and played better football than arsenal, they deserve it more than us, arsenal out, Martinez in, sick and tired of the stubborn old hit, just retire like fergie, need to get a new young manager like Martinez or klopp, thank you for your services to our great club arsene, you used to be brilliant, not anymore, you've lost the plot, you've brainwashed us for long enough, stressed out having to rely on other teams just to finish fourth, just look how low we've sunk, it's a joke, we stood by you long enough, just *** if back to France and leave us alone,

If Arsenal fail to beat Wigan,Arsenal shd not be in the cl. Then Wenger shd pay the price. No ifs and buts.
His tactical incompetence and flaws in his management have caused the gunners to decline relative to the big teams.

@Laticus

We have won a top 4 place for the last 16 years. You won the FA cup against 10 men who didnt turn up!!! If it makes you feel better you can say you will win the last relegation place on Tuesday and make history!!!

Surprise some so called gunners are irritatingly pessimistic. For God sake if we can nt beat a jaded Wigan, then we dnt deserve to be in the champion's league.

from my every breath I will be cheering from the stands on tuesday and singing for a win.... unfortunately I think wigan will end up getting a point and we will be looking for sunderland to do us a favour.
that's not going to happen, sunderland will be safe and Newcastle will feel all the pressure lifted and proberly play out of their skins...
we do not deserve to finish forth and hopefully our fifth place finish will finally see the end to arsene's reign!
if we are lucky enough to finish 4th, spurs will spend we will not, once we drop out of the top 4 we wont get back in, just look at Liverpool who can ever see them regaining champions league again.

don't let us down guys !!!!
and kill the game early

Tell me Barnaby what have Arsenal won this season, I'll tell you, this same as last season and next season, diddly squat. By contradiction Wigan are the FA Cup winners. Maybe you can remember what winning something is like , because that's all you can do REMEMBER.

Am I the only one who feels we will slip up against Wigan, Alcaraz makes a huge difference.

If they can beat Man City in a final with there strongest side then they can beat us for sure

We will win this one (Wigan). Yes the boys in blue&white will come to Emirates really fired up and full of confidence. But the Wigan players will have some kind of reaction after the cup final win and we will take advantage of that Im sure. Plus we have had the oportunity to rest this weekend. Im super optimistick.
+3 #4 Mo 2013-05-12 18:26
If we can't beat teams like Wigan and Newcastle
What's the point of being in the champions league
+2 #3 Mo 2013-05-12 18:25
We need to show hunger and be clinicle against Wigan. If we get couple of goals Wigan will have to commit and we can pick them out. Every single arsenal player needs to be up for it and has to give everything. If we keep a high tempo Wigan will tire out as they will only have few days to recover.
+3 #2 Rodgers Mujo 2013-05-12 18:22
Its a terrible sin to commit but Arsenal ve to do it to get what they want.Otherwise Arsenal must be ready to forget about getting world class players who all want to play champions league football.Hence, anoth er trophy drought year
#1 Danish Gooner 2013-05-12 18:16
Dont worry Wigan fans!! We will *** this one up too.Afterall you are playing Wengers bottlers.
