Arsenal’s pursuit of Stevan Jovetic has been rather curtailed recently by the player’s preference to join Juventus instead of Arsenal.

However, there have been well-publicised disagreements over the fee between the two Italian clubs, and it now appears that Juventus are signing Carlos Tevez as a replacement option.

Opportunity

The Argentinian is expected to move for £8m on a 4-year deal, with Gonzalo Higuain also likely to follow him to Turin. This leaves Jovetic, who has expressed a desire to leave, without a clear destination.

Chelsea appeared to have stolen a march on other suitors, but now are more interested in Napoli’s Edinson Cavani. This leaves Arsenal as his only realistic destination, unless Juventus decide to sign every striker in existence.

So, Arsenal can match his release clause and sign him fairly free of fuss. In theory. Of course, they may wait to see how their pursuit of Wayne Rooney goes before turning to the similar Jovetic, or aren’t really as interested as we’ve been led to believe. It seems too simple to be true...

Higuain

Tevez could also be joining in lieu of Higuain, who Arsenal are pursuing as well. With the newfound financial muscle at Arsenal’s disposal, either of the two players are within reach. We’ll see.

Every year we hear Wenger say he went for this or that player but didn't sign him. His job is spotting good players for other teams. And i don't like his way of spending. Everyone can see what those players Wenger considered too expensive are giving to their teams. Each time, the cheap players Wenger would buy will always fail to deliver. Isn't it wiser to buy a good player for 30 million pounds that buying two cheap ones at 15 million each but in the end they won't pay us back and will either be sent on loan or sit on d bench while they get paid as the weeks roll by?

Honestly if Wenger will listen to the voice of the Surpoters it will the right time to get rid of Rooney and buy more Strikers such as Haquin, Di Maria, defensive midfielder or go and get Fabrigas whom he knows very well.Bringing Rooney to emirate and paying 200 pounds a week will bring disunity in the team

Noel

Aw doesn't spend money? You're a media fed *** if u think that. He has been frugal in the past, sometimes too frugal, but he has also been hamstrung by the stadium debt. Before the move he spent big, on Henry, wiltord, Reyes etc, so your ascertains are total rubbish and doom mongering wishful thinking.

There are two things I am sure of , one is that leopards don't change their spots and the other is that AW won't spend money. Higuain ? Jovetic ? no way their both too expensive. As for Rooney 270k pw ! You must be joking, We will get what we usually get, a mixture of wannabees and hasbeens. If the club were serious about signings Jovetic and/or Higuain would be gunners right now. Sorry but I don't believe in fairy tales especially the bedtime stories told by Ivan Gadzidas .

it will be better for gunners to go for higuain coz, he is proven goal scorer and muscular too,and he will be big hit in physical league like epl..

Juventus are skint and they only get linked with players is due to Turin based tabloids spouting pro Juve propaganda in an effort to make out the old lady is a major player.

As for Teves for £8m? If he's going for that amount, every club in the world would be in for him!

I agree with James, no chance is Jovetic worth the £25m mooted. He is hardly prolific, unlike Higuain And Teves for that matter.

jovetic would be great signing but wenger anything over 20m is to much for the players qualities currently. wenger should persue more on higuain who i think would be let loose by Real Madrid for cheaper

Jovetic is not worth his release clause. If Fiorentina want more than 17/18m, we should follow Juventus' approach and looking at better alternatives, such as Gonzalo Higuain.
