Arsenal have received a boost ahead of next season, with two key defenders pledging their immediate futures to the club, despite differing contract situations.
Bacary Sagna and Laurent Koscielny have both been heavily linked away and have suggested a move is possible, but both are now expected to stay at Arsenal at least until the end of next season.
Sagna
Sagna is entering the last year of his contract, with Arsenal seemingly reluctant to offer an extension to the 30-year-old right back.
Monaco, PSG and Russian side Anzhi were all interested in boosting his wages and giving him a more relaxing place to end his career. But he will at least play out the last year of his deal before leaving, and could even sign a small extension.
Excellent news, as Sagna is still a quality defender, and the perfect tutor for Carl Jenkinson.
Kos
Koscielny is more worrying, as he's arguably the Prem's best CB right now and is attracting interest from Bayern and Barcelona (not helped by his agent). There were concerns he'd agitate for a move due to a lack of investment in the squad, and Arsenal may choose to cash in on another prize asset.
However, he's stated he's happy in London and has no interest in moving (likely untrue but he won't make a fuss). So, even better news there. The key is getting a team together that Laurent won't be interested in leaving.

But let's put it this way: The key is getting a team together that Laurent would be interested in playing with.
As for Sagna-his second leg break has been too much to handle i'm afraid. He's lost most of his pace especially as far as recovery is concerned.I can't understand why Jenkinson wasn't given more chances in the second half of last season as Sagna proved time and time again to be the weakest defensive link.As good as he was-he isn't any more-whilst he's never been able to satisfactorily cross a ball his defensive capabilities always made up for this shortcoming in his game-but not any more.If Monaco or PSG want him then he should be sold as soon as either put in an acceptable offer.
