As everyone will undoubtedly know, Arsenal’s main transfer target this summer appears to be Real Madrid’s Argentine forward, Gonzalo Higuain, and as is the typical Arsenal way this deal seems to be taking an eternity to come to fruition. However, for once this may not be Arsenal’s fault.

Reports in Spain have suggested that Arsenal informed Real Madrid of their interest two weeks ago, and are as of yet still waiting for a reply from the Spanish giants.

It had been thought that Madrid would wait till appointing a new manager before agreeing to sell off their players, but following the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti earlier this week, little has progressed.

A new twist in the tale emerged this morning on Italian TV channel Tuttomercatoweb, when they reported that Ancelotti now wanted to keep the striker, following earlier reports that he wanted to offload him.

So this deal could yet have some time to go before anything happens.

Gonalons not leaving Lyon

Lyon chairman, Jean-Michel Alous has rebuffed reports that Arsenal target Maxime Gonalons is set to leave the French outfit.

The Lyon captain, who is a rumoured Arsenal target due to his capabilities as a defensive midfielder, is said to want to stay at the club, despite other clubs including Napoli also being after the 15 million Euro rated player.

However, Alous did suggest that if the right offer came in for another Arsenal target, Yoann Gourcouff, then they would listen.

Someone should tell the clubs that have already purchased players that the transfer window is not open yet.

The excuses made by some Goonera today are now just outright lies.

Everyday we heard Arsenal are at the verge of buying spectacular players but the deals never materialised. There's plenty of players with the skills, goal scorerimg talent as Higuan.
Move on Wenger and get new signings so that we can win Trophies

Don't believe all you see in the media . 90% is made up. Do you actually believe we are buying Jovetic , Higuain , Rooney etc. etc. Crazy !

One minor detail seems to be getting forgotten THE TRANSFER WINDOW IS NOT YET OPEN. It is the media who are making all the claims. Nothing of any substance to write so they make it up.
Be patient.

A piece of advise to AW & the sleeping board...Can we at least for ONCE complete the signing of players we interested in shorter time frame? We have been experiencing the soap opera of "is he coming or is he not coming" in every transfer windows!!! Our target is either "joining their national team on certain competitions or awaiting the appointment of new manager" bla bla bla.... whereas others has move in to strengthen their clubs.... or this is merely the problem created by AW & Gazidis who is too stingy (for AW) & need to attend class for polishing negotiation skill (for Gazidis)???

Please Wenger go for Benteke and stop wasting time on Higuain. Benteke is as good as Higuain and will cost far less.
Thanks.

Why does everything Arseal do have to be a long drawn out process? Who have Arsenal signs so far of any significance? Personal someone like Benteke or Michu would be just as successful as Higuane but for less money. Some people might think I'm crazy but how many goals did Benteke score for Villa last season? Over 20 goals in a team that doesn't create like Arsenal do; plus he's quick strong he holds the ball up and he runs in behind defenders; which is something Arsenal lacked last season apart from Walcott doing so.

Forget him and go for someone else? All the time money spent getting this close and just drop interest? I'm glad you ain't the manager in wenger we trust! Because if Madrid agree to let him go we WILL get him who else is going to perform that well for £22m and 120-150k a week wages with the fact in mind people choose united, Chelsea or city over us because they offer better wages and win trophies (all though I believe arsenal will strongly compete for them this season) but in till we get them that will remain the same amazing player will fit in we'll and score loads of goal still at a young age with years left in him he is a BARGAIN buy for 22m and if we get him you can mark my words you will regret your comment 100% sure
